We are delighted to present the Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Science and Technology Applications (ICoSTA-2022) that organized by Research and Community Service Centre of Universitas Negeri Medan (LPPM UNIMED). This conference has brought researchers, academicians and practitioners from the national and international institutions to discuss and sharing around the big theme which is “Innovation in Science and Technology for Sustainable Human Quality Development”. The ICoSTA2022 conference presents 4 distinguised keynote speakers with several expertation including of The Educational and Learning System, Prof. Dr. Syawal Gultom, M.Pd, Glass Technology and Materials Science, Prof. Dr. Jakrapong Kaewkhao, expert in the nuclear reactor technology there is Dr. Eng. Topan Setiadipura, S.Si., M.Si, M.Eng and expert in nanostructures for smart sensor devices held by Dr. Mati Horprathum from Thailand. In addition, presenters come from various Government and Private Universities, Institutions, Academy, and Schools. Some of them are researcher from The National Atomic Energy Agency, National Research and Innovation Agency, Institut Technology Bandung, Sriwijaya University, Indonesian Technology Institute, North Sumatera University, University of Surabaya, ITS, UGM, Udayana University, Brawijaya University, Jember University, UNRI, Nusa Cendana University, Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University, UPI, and several institutions. The additional information, there are 23 institutions including from national and international were interested and get involved in this conference. Besides that, there are 86 papers received by committee, some of which are presented orally in parallel sessions, and others are presented through abstract. The articles have been reviewed with double blind review before accepted and published by EAI publisher. Grateful thanks to Director and Vice Directors and especially for Rector of Unimed who always coordinate the organizing committee, and the team who keeps cooperating in running this conference. We strongly believe that the ICoSTA-2022 conference provides a good forum for all researcher, academician and practitioners to discuss all science and technology aspects that are relevant to sustainable human quality development. We also expect that the future ICoSTA conference will be as successful and stimulating, as indicated by the contributions presented in this volume.

Gerakan Revolusi Pena ini semoga mendapatkan sambutan dari pemerintah dan masyarakat luas di Indonesia yaitu terbitnya 100 juta karya ilmiah anak bangsa sehingga mampu melahirkan output yang praktis dan mampu bermanfaat untuk menyelesiakan permasalahan riil masyarakat di berbagai bidang dalam bentuk naskah akademis.

International Seminar on Social Science, Humanities and Education (ISSHE) is motivated by efforts to increase the quality of research and respond to the development of studies related to social science, humanities and education fields. This seminar aims: (1) to bring together all scientists, researchers, practitioners, and lecturers, (2) to share and discuss theoretical and practical knowledge about social science, humanities and education fields. The conference was held virtually by using Zoom on November, 25th 2020. The host of the conference was the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Universitas Haluoleo, Kendari, Indonesia in collaboration with Graduate Program of Linguistics Universitas Warmadewa, Denpasar-Bali, Indonesia. By organising the seminar, it is expected it can be used as a scientific forum to accommodate discussions among young researchers originated from Indonesia in the fields of social science, humanities, and education. Therefore, the keynote speakers and invited speakers in the seminar are the researchers that are reputable and well-known in the world. We would like to thank the organising committee and the board of reviewers for their kind assistance and intention in reviewing all the papers. This is an open access book. The COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years has influenced how educational system works. Online learning became the primal policy taken by all institutions in the world to lower the risk of the virus spread. Despite the drawbacks of the online learning, teachers and students were accustomed with the distant learning through web meetings, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other online learning platforms. In that time, topics under digital learning and education 5.0 were the main stakes in academic disseminations. This year some institutions start to conduct their teaching and learning process classically as before the pandemic, others are still continuing online and not few are in hybrid. This leaves a question: what learning reform should be made in post-pandemic era? This conference invites researchers, experts, teachers and students to discuss the coping solutions of the question. It is important for them to contribute to the understanding of re-imaging online education for better futures, innovative learning design, new skills for living and working in new times, global challenge of education, learning and teaching with blended learning, flipped learning, integrating life skills for students in the curriculum, developing educators for the future distance learning, humanities learning in the digital era, assessment and measurement in education, challenges and transformations in education, technology in teaching and learning, new learning and teaching models.
