Diese hat oft wenig Zeit für ‚Erziehung‘ bzw. ‚Beziehungsarbeit‘, da sie durch den vorgegebenen Lehrplan reglementiert und an Wissensvermittlung gebunden ist. Insbesondere bei problematischem Schülerverhalten gibt es somit häufig keinen konstruktiven und wertschätzenden Umgang. Auch Doktor Birgitta Hogger, Autorin, Pädagogin und Sprachwissenschaftlerin, die sich insbesondere mit pädagogischer und therapeutischer Kommunikation beschäftigt, behauptet, dass die Kommunikation im schulischen Kontext primär didaktisch-pädagogisch zweckbestimmt sei. Beziehungsaufbau und Beziehungsgestaltung seien weniger ein Thema. Dabei sei gerade eine gute Beziehung zum Lehrenden sehr notwendig, um erfolgreiches Lernen zu ermöglichen. Außerdem, so Orth und Fritz, könne das Leben in der Schule „schöner und leichter“ gemacht werden, wenn Beziehungen als wichtig erachtet werden würden. Eine tragfähige pädagogische Beziehung zur Schülerin stelle eine Ressource für beide Seiten dar. Sie schaffe insgesamt ein gutes Lernklima und sei grundlegend zur Unterstützung emotionaler und sozialer, aber auch kognitiver Lernprozesse und zur Förderung der Lernmotivation. Eine gute Beziehung, sowie ein Fokus auf die Stärken und Potenziale der Schüler_innen (Lösungs- und Ressourcenorientierung), wirken sich vielfach positiv auf die Entwicklung der Schüler_innen aus. Nach Tausch wirkt sich Ressourcenorientierung und ein damit verbundenes wertschätzendes Verhalten positiv auf die Schüler_innen aus, da es Verteidigungs- und Oppositionsverhalten sowie Bestrebungen um spezielle Geltung und Zuwendung reduziert, Selbstachtung und Selbstvertrauen fördert und schließlich auch ein positives Vorbild und Modell für das Beobachtungslernen darstellt.

The book provides an introduction to an interdisciplinary field of inquiry that can be called "global linguistics" (GL). GL emerges to tackle the ever-growing phenomenon of intercultural communication (IC) in today's world of international contacts.
