En este libro se presentan perspectivas conceptuales y metodológicas en relación con la formación investigativa del profesorado de ciencias en general y de química en particular, al analizar la dimensión investigativa en los currículos que dirigen la formación de profesores de química. Con ocasión de la conmemoración de los 25 años de fundación del Grupo de Investigación Interinstitucional Representaciones y Conceptos Científicos (IREC), en este libro se retoman las elaboraciones conceptuales y metodológicas fundantes de este programa de investigación. En ese sentido, se presentan sus antecedentes, orígenes y su creación para la configuración de comunidades académicas y científicas, y así prestar atención a los principios epistemológicos y la tradición investigativa en torno a la aproximación constructivista de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las ciencias, como también a la didáctica de las ciencias de la naturaleza como una disciplina autónoma.
