El presente libro pone de manifiesto la creciente presencia que el ingles esta ejerciendo en la vida cotidiana de las sociedades europeas. Fenomenos como la globalizacion y el comercio internacional han hecho que el ingles se convierta en lengua franca o medio de comunicacion a nivel mundial. El ingles se encuentra tan inmerso en las sociedades europeas que podriamos estar ante el surgimiento de cierto sentimiento de identidad con la lengua inglesa entre los ciudadanos europeos. Con tal fin, he realizado diversos estudios que cubren diferentes entornos que constituyen los distintos capitulos de este libro. El primer capitulo estudia el campo de la publicidad. El segundo se centra en la traduccion de los titulos de las peliculas estrenadas en cines espanoles. El tercero analiza el uso de anglicismos en la prensa escrita cinematografica. El cuarto capitulo investiga el contacto de los jovenes espanoles con el ingles. El ultimo capitulo es un espacio reservado para emitir conclusiones y reflexionar sobre este tema."

"Las transformaciones sociales en el marco de la globalización están dando lugar a un nuevo orden lingüístico. En la actualidad podemos identificar cuatro tipos de lenguas. En primer lugar una para la comunicación internacional (inglés). En segundo lugar, un restringido grupo de lenguas regionales en las grandes áreas de intercambio social, cultural y comercial (el español en Latinoamérica, el chino mandarín en China entre otras). Por otra parte el resurgir de los nacionalismos y la crisis de los Estados-nación ubican otros dos grupos de lenguas que se adecúan a los nuevos tiempos, es decir, las lenguas nacionales (castellano, sueco, entre otras); asimismo, las lenguas indígenas y de sociedades sin país (catalán, gaélico, cora, entre otras). La presente obra se estructura en torno a los principales frentes de contacto lingüístico en los que participa la comunidad de habla española en Europa y América. This report assesses progress since the World Bank first issued its comprehensive Forest Strategy in 1991. It finds that the effectiveness of the strategy has been modest, and the sustainability of its impact is uncertain. The Report identifies seven factors that would make the World Bank forest strategy more pertinent to current circumstances as well as strengthening its ability to achieve its strategic objectives in the forest sector. It recommends that the World Bank use its global reach to address mechanisms for mobilisation of concessional international resources outside its normal lending activities. It also advises the World Bank to be proactive in establishing partnerships with all relevant stakeholders, governments, the private sector, and civil society to meet both its country and global roles. The focus on primary tropical moist forests should be broadened to include all types of natural forests of national and global value. The report suggests that illegal logging needs to be reduced through the promotion of improved governance and enforcement. Other recommendations are to give consideration to forest issues in all relevant sector activity and macroeconomic work, address the employment needs of all poor people while continuing to protect the rights of indigenous people, and to realign the World Bank resources with their objectives in the forest sector.
