Il rosso e il nero, Karl Marx e Martin Heidegger: due filosofi fondamentali per la storia del pensiero d’Occidente, accusati però entrambi di essere, in qualche modo, parte in causa nelle tragedie peggiori del Novecento, di aver contribuito ideologicamente alle colpe del nazismo e del comunismo. È inevitabile, dunque, che siano pensatori destinati a essere costantemente interpretati, reinterpretati o male interpretati. A seconda del punto di vista, infatti, la critica delle loro opere ha portato a schierarsi con l’uno e contro l’altro, o – peggio – ad assimilarne le riflessioni alle categorie del “precorrimento” o della “filiazione”: Marx precursore di Heidegger, Heidegger interprete di Marx. In entrambi i casi, il rischio è di incorrere in un’intollerabile reductio ad unum, in cui si perde la specificità dei rispettivi approcci, e il profilo dell’uno viene sacrificato in favore di quello dell’altro, letto alla sua luce e attraverso categorie che non gli appartengono. Invece, se ci liberiamo da giudizi precostituiti, questi due grandi intellettuali possono dirci ancora tanto, e il loro contributo si rivela imprescindibile per leggere la realtà in cui siamo immersi. «Per mezzo della critica heideggeriana di Marx e della critica marxiana di Heidegger, è possibile non solo comprendere meglio il codice teorico di entrambi i filosofi, ma anche tentare di prendere posizione rispetto allo spirito del nostro tempo, l’epoca della tecnica planetaria e del capitalismo mondializzato.» Ecco perché Diego Fusaro, studioso e critico severo di questo presente tecnocapitalistico, ha deciso di ripartire dai loro testi, guidando il lettore all’interpretazione diretta del pensiero di Marx e Heidegger. Solo superando l’intricata selva degli approcci critici precedenti, infatti, si può ripensare il lascito di questi due fecondi sistemi di pensiero per far emergere, tramite il loro confronto, l’impensato e il non-detto di ciascuno, e per capire fino in fondo le radici della letale inversione tra Soggetto e Oggetto cui siamo di fronte: quando cala La notte del mondo, possiamo sempre interrompere la catena in cui ci ritroviamo «signoreggiati dai prodotti della nostra mano, dalle merci e dagli apparati tecnici» e ritrovare finalmente la nostra vera dimensione di uomini.
