This book explores clustering operations in the context of social networks and consensus-reaching paths that take into account non-cooperative behaviors. This book focuses on the two key issues in large-scale group decision-making: clustering and consensus building. Clustering aims to reduce the dimension of a large group. Consensus reaching requires that the divergent individual opinions of the decision makers converge to the group opinion. This book emphasizes the similarity of opinions and social relationships as important measurement attributes of clustering, which makes it different from traditional clustering methods with single attribute to divide the original large group without requiring a combination of the above two attributes. The proposed consensus models focus on the treatment of non-cooperative behaviors in the consensus-reaching process and explores the influence of trust loss on the consensus-reaching process. The logic behind is as follows: firstly, a clustering algorithm is adopted to reduce the dimension of decision-makers, and then, based on the clusters’ opinions obtained, a consensus-reaching process is carried out to obtain a decision result acceptable to the majority of decision-makers. Graduates and researchers in the fields of management science, computer science, information management, engineering technology, etc., who are interested in large-scale group decision-making and consensus building are potential audience of this book. It helps readers to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of clustering analysis and consensus building in large-scale group decision-making.

This book investigates in detail large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) problem, which has gradually evolved from the traditional group decision-making problem and has attracted more and more attention in the age of big data. Pursuing a holistic approach, the book establishes a fundamental framework for LSGDM with uncertain and behavioral considerations. To address the behavioral uncertainty and complexity of large groups of decision-makers, this book mainly focuses on new solutions of LSGDM problems using the interval type-2 fuzzy uncertainty theory and social network analysis techniques, including the exploration of uncertain clustering analysis, the consideration of social relationships, especially trust relationships, the construction of consensus evolution networks, etc. The book is intended for researchers and postgraduates who are interested in complex group decision-making in the new media era. Authors also investigate the similar features between LSGDM problems and group recommendations to study the applications of LSGDM methods. After reading this book, readers will have a new understanding of the LSGDM study under the real complicated context.

When a group makes a decision, that decision carries a lot more weight than when just one person does it. Think of the founding fathers of the American constitution and how much power and influence their ideas have had in the entire world for more than two hundred years. Also think of gravity, a universal force brought about by an enormous number of minute particles that band together to make a universal law. Together, they create a massive force, a law of nature; alone they can barely be noticed. That is how our minds work by deciding together to create a power that transcends our individuality. Group decision making is a gift and an opportunity to create greater influence through the working together of many minds. This book shows how to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process for hierarchical decision making and the Analytic Network Process for decision making in networks with dependence and feedback in group decision making. Part I discusses the group and the decision and shows the importance of using a structured process, particularly for those high value decisions involving many powerful parties with different interests. It discusses how to facilitate a group decision, combine individual judgments and smooth differences to arrive at a decision that everyone can live with and get behind. Part II discusses the group in planning and how to draw out differences. Part III is about conflict resolution and Part IV is about how to address significant issues that come up in group decision making and shows that it is possible to construct an overall group preference.

Consensus Modeling To Promote Group Wisdom written by Sumin Yu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-26 with Business & Economics categories.
This book explores the latest theories, methods, and applications of consensus modeling. It proposes a variety of consensus modeling methods for different decision-making contexts, including conflict risk mitigation in group decision-making, integration with the failure mode and effects analysis technique, consideration of over-adjustment and flexible consensus, social network large-group decision-making environments involving multiple consensus costs, and multi-agent collaborative decision-making with consideration of trade-offs between revenue and reputation. In addition, this book discusses the application and implementation process of the proposed consensus modeling techniques in real-world decision-making, including collecting decision data, organizing decision-making groups, controlling the decision-making process, and evaluating the results. We encourage researchers, academics, students, business managers, and policy makers engaged in a variety of real-world decisions characterized by group decision-making (e.g., emergency decisions, public affairs decisions, and major corporate decisions) to pay attention to the proposals presented in the book. This book systematically describes the latest theories, methods, and applications of consensus modeling with a view to providing practical methodological support for corporate decision-making, governmental decision-making, and so on. Special emphasis is placed on the fact that this book can provide students, especially graduate students, with a comprehensive perspective on the study of consensus modeling. For businesses and governments, this book provides methodological support for how to merge inputs from multiple parties to obtain a majority-approved consensus solution (at minimal group cost) and ultimately develop group wisdom.

Applied intelligence, integrated with software, is an essential enabler for science and the new economy, creating new markets and new directions for a more reliable, flexible and robust society and empowering the exploration of our world in ever more depth. The available software, however, often falls short of expectations, with current methodologies, tools, and techniques still neither robust enough nor sufficiently reliable to adequately serve a constantly changing and evolving market. This proceedings presents 40 papers delivered at SoMeT 24, the 23rd edition of the International Conference on New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodology Tools, and Techniques, held on 24 and 25 September 2024 in Cancun, Mexico. The conference explored new trends and theories, illuminating the direction of developments by discussing issues ranging from research practices to techniques and methodologies and proposing and reporting on the solutions needed for global world business, and this book aims to capture the essence of a new state-of-the-art in software science and its supporting technologies, and to identify the challenges that such technologies will have to master. The 40 papers included here were carefully selected following a thorough review process on the basis of technical soundness, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity, whereby each paper was reviewed by three or four reviewers. The book brings together the work of scholars from the international research community, and will be of interest to all those working in the field of intelligent software methodology, tools, and techniques.

Granularities Driven Hesitant Fuzzy Linguistic Decision Making written by Yuanhang Zheng and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-24 with Computers categories.
This book introduces a state-of-the-art extension of fuzzy sets that is hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets with granularity levels, and based on the fuzzy technique, several granularities-driven hesitant fuzzy linguistic decision-making methods are introduced to provide powerful tools to solve actual problems. Motivated from the idea of granular computing, the technique of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets with granularity levels is constructed, which not only brings flexibility and individuality for the linguistic model, but also provides a possibility to process a large amount of linguistic information in group decision-making efficiently and accurately. Thus, the researches on granularities-driven hesitant fuzzy linguistic decision making, can provide an effective way to solve practical decision-making problems based on complex linguistic information, and enrich the research system of decision-making and granular computing in theory and practice. In specific, this book introduces the construction of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets with granularity levels, and methods of handling attribute dependence, attribute reduction, single-objective group decision-making, and bi-objective group decision-making. The above decision-making methods are applied to the evaluation of medical and health management, and the effectiveness and advantages of the methods are verified by simulation comparison and analysis. Therefore, this book has not only important theoretical significance, but also broad application prospects.
