Ela chega para compartilhar com a comunidade acadêmica, educacional e interessada, parte representativa de nossa produção científica docente e discente. Haveria muito o que destacar nessa fotografia sobre o que andamos realizando; basta dizer, no entanto, que embora funcionando numa escola, isso não se traduz numa homogeneidade de interesses ou doutrinação metodológica. Muito pelo contrário, os textos aqui reunidos, além de recobrirem objetos dentro de um grande arco temporal e geográfico, fundam o rigor de suas pesquisas segundo as mais diversas perspectivas contemporâneas e tradicionais. O termo escola aqui, portanto, quer dizer espaço para diferentes maneiras de inovar. Vejamos, pois, o que a leitura deste volume dedicado aos Estudos Literários lhe reserva, leitora e leitor. Para um melhor direcionamento da leitura, organizamos o volume em duas grandes partes: a primeira, composta por textos de caráter teórico mais geral, e a segunda, de análise aplicada a casos específicos. Trata-se, todavia, de uma divisória repleta de portas abertas, pois se os primeiros trabalhos sempre comentam obras literárias, os segundos jamais se furtam à reflexão conceitual

While the very existence of global literary studies as an institutionalised field is not yet fully established, the global turn in various disciplines in the humanities and the social sciences has been gaining traction in recent years. This book aims to contribute to the field of global literary studies with a more inclusive and decentralising approach. Specifically, it responds to a double demand: the need for expanding openness to other ways of seeing the global literary space by including multiple literary and cultural traditions and other interdisciplinary perspectives in the discussion, and the need for conceptual models and different case studies that will help develop a global approach in four key avenues of research: global translation flows and translation policies, the post-1989 novel as a global form, global literary environments, and a global perspective on film and cinema history. Gathering contributions from international scholars with expertise in various areas of research, the volume is structured around five target concepts: space, scale, time, connectivity, and agency. We also take gender and LGBTQ+ perspectives, as well as a digital approach.

This Spanish-language anthology contains selections by 45 Latin-American authors. It is intended as a text for upper division Latin American literature survey courses. The anthology presumes a high level of linguistic command of Spanish, and it contains footnotes to allusions and cultural references, as well as words and phrases not found in standard bilingual dictionaries used in the US. Emphasis is on major 20th-century writers, while important works from colonial and 19th-century literature as also included. The diverse selections of Literature Hispanoamericana will enable students to have a more sustained exposure to major voices of Latin American literature than possible in anthologies built around fragments. By focusing on fewer authors but more significant selections from their writings, students will have a greater grasp of major canonical figures as well as emergent voices.
