Las Didácticas Específicas, y entre ellas la Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura, tal vez por su aún corto recorrido histórico, si las comparamos con las disciplinas que nacen a mediados del siglo xix, por un lado, y, por otro, debido a la necesidad de abordar e intentar resolver los múltiples, variados y complejos problemas que, en relación con la educación lingüística y literaria, han surgido en los sistemas educativos modernos, han dejado para un segundo momento el hecho de abordar la escritura de sus Historias. Esta Historia de la educación lingüística y literaria nace con la intención de rellenar dicha laguna. Y con tal fin se describen en ella los modelos de educación lingüística y literaria en que se han formado los escolares de la España contemporánea. Hoy sabemos que, como señala Eloy Martos en la presentación de este volumen, debido a la complejidad, extensión y variedad que han adquirido las investigaciones sobre estas disciplinas, es tarea poco menos que imposible para ser abordada por un único autor. Pero no debemos olvidar tampoco que estamos, como nuestros antepasados del siglo xix, aquellos que escribieron las primeras Historias de la literatura, ante textos fundacionales, necesarios para recuperar la memoria histórica y para no seguir creando sobre el vacío historiográfico y educacional en el que nos movemos. El presente libro estudia el Teatro Pánico de Fernando Arrabal, un conjunto de textos concebidos durante los primeros años del autor en París, entre 1957 y 1966. Escritas en el momento de mayor auge de la vanguardia, las obras vehiculan una teatralidad radicalmente innovadora cuya piedra angular la constituye el lenguaje ceremonial. La ceremonia pánica que subyace a toda esa dramaturgia es objeto de un profundo análisis a la luz de Le Panique, texto programático del propio Arrabal en que el autor identifica los tres conceptos que desencadenan la creación artística: memoria, azar y confusión. El estudio se detiene en los procesos por los que la memoria determina que las obras abandonen la mímesis, y el azar articula los materiales recuperados de la memoria en tramas y estructuras hilvanadas con gran precisión. ENGLISH VERSION The Panic Theatre is a set of plays conceived by Fernando Arrabal between1957 and 1966, the author's first years in Paris. Composed at the zenith of the avant-garde movement, they convey a radically new and challenging theatricality whose cornerstone is their ceremonial shape. The plays' underlying panic ceremony is thoroughly studied in light of Arrabal's programmatic text Le Panique, that singles out three key concepts responsible for artistic creation: memory, chance and confusion. This study shows how memory determines the plays' departure from mimesis and how chance articulates the materials recalled from memory into precisely arranged plots. Furthermore, subjects, objects, spatial-temporal frames and words are subject to confusion, inan attempt to create an utterly innovative form of theatre. This group of seemingly heterogeneous plays is given theoretical coherence and consistency by placing the idea of panic at the centre of a great formal experimentation. This book breaks new ground in considering the nature and function of anthologies of poetry and short stories in twentieth-century Portugal. It tackles the main theoretical issues, identifies a significant body of critical writing on the relationship between anthologies, literary history and the canon, and proposes an approach that might be designated Descriptive Anthology Studies. The author aims to achieve a full understanding of the role of anthologies in the literary polysystem. Moreover, this study considers anthologies published in Portugal in the early years of the twentieth-century, the influential figures who made them, the works they selected, and who read them. It also focuses on the principal publishing houses of the 1940s and 50s, and how their literary directors shaped public taste and promoted intercultural transfer. The author reveals tensions between conservative, nostalgic anthologies that promote an idyllic vision of rural Portugal, and collections of poems that question and challenge the status quo, whether in respect of the colonial wars or repressed female sexuality. The last part of the book explores anthology production in the period following the Revolution of 1974, observing the co-existence of traditional anthologising activity with new trends and innovations, and noting the role of women, both as anthologists and anthology items.
