Für die Opfer ist es immens mit Scham behaftet, sich zu erkennen zu geben. Von der Gesellschaft ist es zumeist nicht nachvollziehbar und damit ist der Schritt in die Öffentlichkeit für die Opfer noch schwerer, da sie auf Unverständnis bis hin zu Spott treffen. Es wird immer wieder angeführt, dass laut polizeilichen Kriminalstatistiken mehr Frauen als Männer Opfer von häuslicher Gewalt werden, aber ist dies wirklich so? Die Zahl der männlichen Opfer steigt von Jahr zu Jahr stetig an und die Dunkelziffer wird hoch eingeschätzt, da es immer noch keine ausreichende Lobby und kein Hilfsnetzwerk für männliche Opfer gibt und dies das Outing noch schwerer gestaltet. Die Frauenbewegung hat zweifelsohne einen hohen Verdienst an der Aufklärungsarbeit von häuslicher Gewalt aber ist diese vielleicht zu einseitig geworden und wurde dadurch vielleicht zu sehr impliziert, das häusliche Gewalt männliche Gewalt ist? Es tauchen immer mehr kritische Stimmen auf und es wird geforscht ob häusliche Gewalt nicht eher eine menschliche Gewalt ist, die von beiden Geschlechtern ausgeübt und ausgehalten wird. Dies stößt vor allem in feministischen Kreisen auf viel Gegenwehr, doch ist dies nicht ein Paradox, dass man gerade aus dieser Richtung ein Alleinmonopol für die Frau auf den Opferstatus in der häuslichen Gewalt erhebt (vgl. Sticher-Gil 2003: 32f.)?

Es finden Tagungen statt, es gibt ein mannigfaltiges Angebot an Hilfen und wenn man hausliche Gewalt in eine Internetsuchmaschine eingibt dann sind die ersten zehn Ergebnisse fur Beratungsseiten oder Erklarungsansatze fur Frauen und Kinder die Opfer davon geworden sind. Diese einseitige Betrachtungsweise der Gesellschaft auf das Thema lasst annehmen, dass Manner von diesem Thema nicht betroffen sind. Auch in Medien wird dies immer wieder sehr kritisch dar gestellt da die Furcht sehr gross ist von der feministischen Seite, das der Tater all zu schnell Opfer gemacht wird. Wie stellt sich die Problematik der hauslichen Gewalt an Mannern im Hinblick auf verschiedene Erklarungsansatze sowie durch aktuelle Zahlen und die Soziale Arbeit dar. Auch stellt sich die Frage ob die bisher erbrachten Forschungsergebnisse in Bezug auf hausliche Gewalt im Kontext Frau als Opfer und Mann als Tater auch ubertragen lasst auf mannliche Opfer und weibliche Tater. In der folgenden Ausarbeitung zu diesem Thema wird anhand von verschiedenen Medien und Statistiken belegt, dass es zwar eine kleine aber vielleicht doch grosser werdende Zielgruppe fur die Soziale Arbeit sein konnte. Dafur wird zuerst eine allgemeine Definition zu hauslicher Gewalt fur die Ausarbeitung festgelegt und danach werden die Formen und Erklarungsansatze sowie der Polizeilichen Kriminalstatistik von Berlin naher beleuchtet. Im Anschluss werden Tater- und Opfertypen detailliert erklart. Als Ergebnis dieser Arbeit werden im Folgenden die Implikationen fur die Soziale Arbeit genannt und das Faz
