La deficiente preparacin que recibimos para redactar es un mal que nos aqueja cotidianamente. Lo sufrimos los profesores, los alumnos de pregrado y posgrado, as como los profesionales que inician su carrera como investigadores. A pesar de todos los aos que pasamos en las aulas en los niveles previos a la universidad, parece que la constante es nuestra incapacidad para escribir acadmicamente. Students and researchers all write under pressure, and those pressures—most lamentably, the desire to impress your audience rather than to communicate with them—often lead to pretentious prose, academic posturing, and, not infrequently, writer’s block.
