Fully Nonlinear Elliptic Equations written by Luis A. Caffarelli and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995 with Mathematics categories.
The goal of the book is to extend classical regularity theorems for solutions of linear elliptic partial differential equations to the context of fully nonlinear elliptic equations. This class of equations often arises in control theory, optimization, and other applications. The authors give a detailed presentation of all the necessary techniques. Instead of treating these techniques in their greatest generality, they outline the key ideas and prove the results needed for developing the subsequent theory. Topics discussed in the book include the theory of viscosity solutions for nonlinear equations, the Alexandroff estimate and Krylov-Safonov Harnack-type inequality for viscosity solutions, uniqueness theory for viscosity solutions, Evans and Krylov regularity theory for convex fully nonlinear equations, and regularity theory for fully nonlinear equations with variable coefficients.

The Ginzburg-Landau equation us a mathematical model of superconductors has become an extremely useful tool in many areas of physics where vortices carrying a topological charge appear. The remarkable progress in the mathematical understanding of this equation involves a combined use of mathematical tools from many branches of mathematics. The Ginzburg-Landau model has been an amazing source of new problems and new ideas in analysis, geometry and topology. This collection will meet the urgent needs of the specialists, scholars and graduate students working in this area or related areas.

Interpolation Spaces written by J. Bergh and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Mathematics categories.
The works of Jaak Peetre constitute the main body of this treatise. Important contributors are also J. L. Lions and A. P. Calderon, not to mention several others. We, the present authors, have thus merely compiled and explained the works of others (with the exception of a few minor contributions of our own). Let us mention the origin of this treatise. A couple of years ago, J. Peetre suggested to the second author, J. Lofstrom, writing a book on interpolation theory and he most generously put at Lofstrom's disposal an unfinished manu script, covering parts of Chapter 1-3 and 5 of this book. Subsequently, LOfstrom prepared a first rough, but relatively complete manuscript of lecture notes. This was then partly rewritten and thouroughly revised by the first author, J. Bergh, who also prepared the notes and comment and most of the exercises. Throughout the work, we have had the good fortune of enjoying Jaak Peetre's kind patronage and invaluable counsel. We want to express our deep gratitude to him. Thanks are also due to our colleagues for their support and help. Finally, we are sincerely grateful to Boe1 Engebrand, Lena Mattsson and Birgit Hoglund for their expert typing of our manuscript.

Mirror Symmetry Ii written by Brian Greene and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Mathematics categories.
Mirror Symmetry has undergone dramatic progress since the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) workshop in 1991, whose proceedings constitute voluem I of this continuing collection. Tremendous insight has been gained on a number of key issues. This volume surveys these results. Some of the contributions in this work have appeared elsewhere, while others were written specifically for this collection. The areas covered are organized into 4 sections, and each presents papers by both physicists and mathematicians. This volume collects the most important developments that have taken place in mathematical physics since 1991. It is an essential reference tool for both mathematics and physics libraries and for students of physics and mathematics. Titles in this series are co-published, between the American Mathematical Society and International Press, Cambridge, MA, USA.

Thirty years in the making, this revised text by three of the world's leading mathematicians covers the dynamical aspects of ordinary differential equations. it explores the relations between dynamical systems and certain fields outside pure mathematics, and has become the standard textbook for graduate courses in this area. The Second Edition now brings students to the brink of contemporary research, starting from a background that includes only calculus and elementary linear algebra. The authors are tops in the field of advanced mathematics, including Steve Smale who is a recipient of.

Scattering Theory Some Old And New Problems written by Dmitri R. Yafaev and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-05-06 with Mathematics categories.
Scattering theory is, roughly speaking, perturbation theory of self-adjoint operators on the (absolutely) continuous spectrum. It has its origin in mathematical problems of quantum mechanics and is intimately related to the theory of partial differential equations. Some recently solved problems, such as asymptotic completeness for the Schrödinger operator with long-range and multiparticle potentials, as well as open problems, are discussed. Potentials for which asymptotic completeness is violated are also constructed. This corresponds to a new class of asymptotic solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. Special attention is paid to the properties of the scattering matrix, which is the main observable of the theory. The book is addressed to readers interested in a deeper study of the subject.

Multichannel Optical Networks written by Peng-Jun Wan and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-09-30 with Computers categories.
The huge bandwidth of optical fiber was recognized back in the 1970s during the early development of fiber optics technology. For the last two decades, the capacity of experimental and deployed systems has been increasing at a rate of 100-fold each decade - a rate exceeding the increase of integrated circuit speeds. Today, optical communication in the public communication networks has developed from the status of a curiosity into being the dominant technology. Various great challenges arising from the deployment of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) have attracted much effort from many researchers. Indeed, optical networking has been a fertile ground for both theoretical research and experimental studies. This monograph presents contributions from the author's past and ongoing research in the field of optical networking. The ideas presented focus more on graph-theoretical and algorithmic aspects of optical networks. Although this book is limited to the author's own research, there are many outstanding achievements made by other individuals which are cited throughout. Without the inspiration of their efforts, this monograph would never have been possible. Audience: Research workers and professionals from mathematics, computer science, and engineering with an interest in algorithms, graph theory, telecommunications, networking and optical devices.

Classical Galois Theory With Examples written by Lisl Gaal and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Mathematics categories.
Galois theory is one of the most beautiful subjects in mathematics, but it is heard to appreciate this fact fully without seeing specific examples. Numerous examples are therefore included throughout the text, in the hope that they will lead to a deeper understanding and genuine appreciation of the more abstract and advanced literature on Galois theory. This book is intended for beginning graduate students who already have some background in algebra, including some elementary theoryof groups, rings and fields. The expositions and proofs are intended to present Galois theory in as simple a manner as possible, sometimes at the expense of brevity. The book is for students and intends to make them take an active part in mathematics rather than merely read, nod their heads atappropriate places, skip the exercises, and continue on to the next section.
