Multivariable Control Systems focuses on control design with continual references to the practical aspects of implementation. While the concepts of multivariable control are justified, the book emphasises the need to maintain student interest and motivation over exhaustive mathematical proof. Tools of analysis and representation are always developed as methods for achieving a final control system design and evaluation. Features: • design implementation laid out using extensive reference to MATLAB®; • combined consideration of systems (plant) and signals (mainly disturbances); • step-by-step approach from the objectives of multivariable control to the solution of complete design problems. Multivariable Control Systems is an ideal text for graduate students or for final-year undergraduates looking for more depth than provided by introductory textbooks. It will also interest the control engineer practising in industry and seeking to implement robust or multivariable control solutions to plant problems.

Computer Controlled Systems With Delay written by Efim N. Rosenwasser and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-05-22 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay is a systematic study of the problems of analysis and synthesis for multidimensional sampled-data (SD) systems with delay. It is based on the frequency polynomial method, in which the concept of a parametric transfer matrix (PTM) plays a key role. Until now, no alternative general methods have been available to solve the above problems. The text is divided into three parts: background information from the theory of polynomial and rational matrices, helps the reader to acquire the basic understanding necessary to use the main content of the book without addressing additional sources; methods for the mathematical description of multidimensional SD systems with delay, based on the concept of the PTM; and optimization methods for multidimensional SD systems with delay, including H2 andL2 optimization as well as H2 optimization for colored input signals. The monograph is completed by three appendices. An algorithm for constructing the set of pathological sampling periods for a continuous SISO object with delay is provided first. MATLAB®-toolbox algorithms representing methods described in the book and application examples for selected optimization problems are given in the second. A solution to the problem of guaranteeing the required performance in a class of stochastic disturbances for SD systems with delay is considered in the third. Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay is intended for engineers, scientists and teachers working in modern control theory. It will also benefit post-graduate students taking courses in related disciplines. The book continues the description of the authors’ research results on developing methods for SD systems theory which are based onthe PTM concept and published in the monographs Computer Controlled Systems and Multivariable Computer-controlled Systems.

Multivariable Feedback Control: Analysis and Design, Second Edition presents a rigorous, yet easily readable, introduction to the analysis and design of robust multivariable control systems. Focusing on practical feedback control and not on system theory in general, this book provides the reader with insights into the opportunities and limitations of feedback control. Taking into account the latest developments in the field, this fully revised and updated second edition: * features a new chapter devoted to the use of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs); * presents current results on fundamental performance limitations introduced by RHP-poles and RHP-zeros; * introduces updated material on the selection of controlled variables and self-optimizing control; * provides simple IMC tuning rules for PID control; * covers additional material including unstable plants, the feedback amplifier, the lower gain margin and a clear strategy for incorporating integral action into LQG control; * includes numerous worked examples, exercises and case studies, which make frequent use of Matlab and the new Robust Control toolbox. Multivariable Feedback Control: Analysis and Design, Second Edition is an excellent resource for advanced undergraduate and graduate courses studying multivariable control. It is also an invaluable tool for engineers who want to understand multivariable control, its limitations, and how it can be applied in practice. The analysis techniques and the material on control structure design should prove very useful in the new emerging area of systems biology. Reviews of the first edition: "Being rich in insights and practical tips on controller design, the book should also prove to be very beneficial to industrial control engineers, both as a reference book and as an educational tool." Applied Mechanics Reviews "In summary, this book can be strongly recommended not only as a basic text in multivariable control techniques for graduate and undergraduate students, but also as a valuable source of information for control engineers." Computer Aided Design Of Control Systems written by M. A. Cuenod and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-19 with Computers categories.

Computer Aided Design of Control Systems focuses on the use of computers to analyze and design the control of various processes, as well as the development of program packages with different algorithms for digital computers. The selection first takes a look at the computer aided design of minimal order controllers, including design of interacting and noninteracting dynamic controllers of minimal order and basic algorithm. The book then discusses an accelerated Newton process to solve Riccati equation through matrix sign function; suboptimal direct digital control of a trickle-bed absorption column; and structural design of large systems employing a geometric approach. The text underscores the computer as an aid for the implementation of advanced control algorithms on physical processes and analysis of direct control algorithms and their parallel realization. Topics include hardware influences on the control, process influence, and interactive structure design of direct control systems. The book also takes a look at the optimal control of randomly sampled linear stochastic systems; computer aided design of suboptimal test signals for system identification; and computer aided design of multi-level systems with prescribed structure and control constraints. The selection is a dependable source of data for readers interested in the uses of computers.

Control Configuration Selection For Multivariable Plants written by A. Khaki-Sedigh and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-09-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Control of multivariable industrial plants and processes has been a challenging and fascinating task for researchers in this field. The analysis and design methodologies for multivariable plants can be categorized as centralized and decentralized design strategies. Despite the remarkable theoretical achievements in centralized multiva- able control, decentralized control is still widely used in many industrial plants. This trend in the beginning of the third millennium is still there and it will be with us for the foreseeable future. This is mainly because of the easy implementation, main- nance, tuning, and robust behavior in the face of fault and model uncertainties, which is reported with the vast number of running decentralized controllers in the industry. The main steps involved in employing decentralized controllers can be summarized as follows: • Control objectives formulation and plant modeling. • Control structure selection. • Controller design. • Simulation or pilot plant experiments and Implementation. Nearly all the textbooks on multivariable control theory deal only with the control system analysis and design. The important concept of control structure selection which is a key prerequisite for a successful industrial control strategy is almost unnoticed. Structure selection involves the following two main steps: • Inputs and outputs selection. • Control configuration selection or the input-output pairing problem. This book focuses on control configuration selection or the input-output pairing problem, which is defined as the procedure of selecting the appropriate input and output pair for the design of SISO (or block) controllers.
