The author sometimes provokes her fellow humans by saying that it was perfect she got sclerosis (MS) so she had to stop and think carefully and find a new depth of life. Otherwise, she had probably continued her former comfortable life in Denmark, but the disease made it necessary for her to make some alternative choices. She chose to seek insight in her loving India, where they have a different view of MS - ie Multiple Sclerosis - and of life. She became so excited about the old Indian health system Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and healthy food, that she returned to Ayurvedic and similar retreats in India and Sri Lanka, totally for preliminary 15 times. She writes in an enthusiastic, funny and positive way about all those retreats, a lot about yoga and how she has managed the disease. It’s a very colorful and happy book, a little gem in positive thinking.

Me, Myself and MS is a true-to-life, heartwarming, and inspirational memoir that deals with what I went through and go through on a day-to-day, more specifically, a minute-to-minute basis in the battle of living with multiple sclerosis. This book will give a detailed description of my life from the moment of diagnoses to the many symptoms, medications, treatments, and some of the possible side effects. It is also a portrayal of the tears, laughter, triumphs, and tribulations that are a part of living with multiple sclerosis. Me, Myself and MS is not only targeted for people living with multiple sclerosis, but it is also for anyone dealing with lifes challenges and who are in need of a little inspiration. It makes a statement that the choice is yours. You can submit to your illness and hardships, or you can see these challenges as a new chapter in your life and move forward fighting tooth and nail with each new blow that is thrown you way. With two hundred people diagnosed weekly with multiple sclerosis, this inspirational book will help ease some of the fears about what you might go through. It is meant to encourage and guide those that are going through this journey or any challenges in their lives. In my family, there are four of us living with multiple sclerosis, and I was the first to be diagnosed. There was no one that I could turn to for advice as to what to expect. I hadnt even heard the words multiple sclerosis or what this illness was, so I wanted to pass along that although you have been given a new life/way of living, you can/will survive your diagnoses. This is a journeyone that I have been on for twenty-three years and counting.

Karen initially believed that her interest and curiosity in the new age realm would lead her to a full recovery or cure from Multiple Sclerosis. What she discovered was how her relationships played a key role in her mental, physical, and spiritual health. It began by ending friendships that were or never were healthy in the first place. She then discovered that it was not only the unhealthy friendships but it carried over to intimate relationships and professional relationships with her clients as well as other collegues. When she wanted to know why she had attracted so many people in her life that did not reflect her integrity her Homeopathic team placed Karen on a journey of self discovery. She began to realize that this pattern of relationships stemmed from the first relationships she made with her parents particularly her mother. She started to notice the significance of her relationship with her mother when she began the writing process of this book. Having all the intention of filling the pages with Alternative Health care Professionals, instead, she found herself writing about her mother. Prior to writing her book she read another book which was a guide for beginner writers and she knew she had to finish writing her thoughts on paper before she could continue as she thought, to write about Practitioners. However, Karen couldnt stop writing about her mother but continued to write and found that the writing process became very healing for her. This new journey became the source of what healing from Multiple Sclerosis was all about for Karen. What she gained from the result of her relationship with her mother was to learn to love herself. Once she did that she was able to break through her chrysalis and transform into a beautiful, spiritually-healed woman.

As the principal in the directorate of education, gnct of delhi, i have had the privilege of working with children with special needs for over five years. this journey has not only been professionally enriching but deeply personal. it has been a journey of learning, growth, and profound transformation — not only for the children but also for all those who have been involved in the process of their education and care. the rights of persons with disabilities (rpwd) act, 2016 has been a cornerstone in shaping the landscape of inclusive education in india. it brings forth a comprehensive approach to ensure equal rights, opportunities, and participation for people with disabilities. one of the act's most significant contributions is the recognition of 21 distinct disabilities, acknowledging the diversity of challenges faced by individuals with special needs. this recognition is not just legal; it is a step towards creating a more inclusive society, one that respects and accommodates every individual, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. in my role, i have witnessed firsthand the importance of awareness and sensitivity towards these disabilities. whether it’s a student with visual impairment needing specialized educational tools, a child with cerebral palsy requiring physical support in the classroom, or a young learner on the autism spectrum needing a more tailored approach to social interaction, the responsibility of the education system is clear: to provide an environment where all children, regardless of their challenges, can thrive. over the years, i have worked with a dedicated team of educators, special educators, and support staff who have come together to create such an environment. we have strived to not only meet the academic needs of these children but also to foster emotional well-being, social inclusion, and holistic development. however, the journey is far from over, and there is much more to be done. this book aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the 21 disabilities recognized under the rpwd act, 2016. each disability is explored with the hope that it will equip educators, parents, policymakers, and community leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to make meaningful strides towards inclusivity. the importance of recognizing the unique needs of every child, the role of individualized education plans (ieps), and the value of early intervention are some of the themes that will be discussed in detail. it is my belief that understanding these disabilities in-depth is the first step towards creating a truly inclusive education system, one that empowers every child to reach their full potential. it is also my hope that this book will spark meaningful conversations on how we, as a society, can come together to break down barriers — not just physical or architectural, but those that exist in our minds. disability is not a limitation; it is an invitation to rethink our norms, our practices, and our expectations of what it means to be truly inclusive. i dedicate this book to the countless children with special needs who have taught me more than i could ever hope to teach them. their resilience, their joy, and their determination have been a constant source of inspiration. it is for them — and for all those who continue to advocate for a more inclusive future — that i offer this work. may we continue to grow in understanding and compassion, as we work towards a world where every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to flourish.......... rahul dev (principal), directorate of education, gnct of delhi
