If you are interested in who we are as an individual, what we are doing on this planet, and where we are going as a human race, then you will be interested in the person who gave us the answers in his book entitled Our Ultimate Purpose in Life. My Life in a Nutshell is a brief summary of his life and the fun and frustrations that eventually led to his writing the book as an expression of his fulfi lment need and desire to contribute to the future of mankind. His journey began in 1941 in Germany, where he still managed to have a lot of fun, despite the war and the general shortage of food and housing, which he remembers with a sense of humour reflecting his optimism about life in general. He continues his journey in Australia, where he arrived in 1960 together with his family who were intent on becoming citizens in a country full of opportunities, which they applied themselves to with the best of their ability. At the same time, there was a sense of exploitation by the rich and powerful, which led to many a frustration as the author expected a fair return for a fair days work, which he eventually addressed with a TOP Management Manual. Unfortunately, the management system was not yet ready for his vision of the future, which eventually led to his commitment to the research and development of a connection between a Grand Order of Design and The Human Condition. His journey is one which we can all identify with, regardless of our position in life; after all, to be human is all about: Fun, Frustrations and Fulfi lment

These poems are about my life and trying to keep it together as a mother, wife, business partner, and as a woman coming down with mental illness. This mental illness happened to me at the same age my mom came down with it (around the age of thirty years.) The illness did not allow my mom to work and she became homeless for eight years of my childhood. After years of caring for her when I was a child, now I was in her same shoes and felt the cold breathing down my back as my mom did when she was sent to the woods! Can I hold it together to raise my children? Can I make a living without my childrens father whom left me because I was mentally ill? How can I now care for my children with my illness that could leave them parentless? Oh, how I worry that they will not have the necessities that life requires. But most importantly will they end up with the same illness as I?

My Life in a Nutshell is about moments and conversations between me and God. It was when I was at my lowest when God started to reveal himself to me, showing and telling me things that I needed. I had some rough things happen in my life, but I never let it turn me into a victim. It made me into the strong woman I am today. I also have quotes from my late mother, Sheila A. Porter, who passed October 30, 2015. She left me with some good words to turn back to when I needed them, and I pray they help you too. My Life in a Nutshell is real and full of life-changing events that many won't talk about, and so when you read it, I pray it gives you strength and power to tell your story and that you learn to lean on God in times of trouble.

In early 2020, few Indians watching the COVID-19 pandemic unfold globally may have thought about it spreading across India. As the COVID-19 cases started rising, the Indian government declared a 3-week lockdown in March 2020 and followed it up with four more over the next six months. India had the most stringent lockdown globally for most of 2020 and this book looks closely at the lives of Indians during that year. In 2020, video calling apps enabled people to interact professionally and personally and became the biggest saviors. Shopping became an expedition and exercising an adventure as the Indian lockdown did not allow most outdoor activities. The author heard the world’s loudest insect in his community when the lockdown stopped all activity. This book documents many such wondrous natural phenomena that the author observed when nature was in free flow in absence of human interference. The author’s kaleidoscopic coverage paints a fascinating picture of his life in a pandemic year. In a year that saw postponement of the Olympics by a year, a race was on to develop a COVID-19 vaccine with more than 100 vaccine candidates in line for use in 2021. My Life in a Pandemic is a great chronicle of the 21st century’s first pandemic that dramatically reshaped human history.

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • A “suspenseful, dazzlingly clever and gravely profound” (The Washington Post) novel that brilliantly recasts Shakespeare and lends new weight to the age-old question of Hamlet's hesitation, from the Booker Prize winner and bestselling author of Atonement. Trudy has been unfaithful to her husband, John. What’s more, she has kicked him out of their marital home, a valuable old London town house, and in his place is his own brother, the profoundly banal Claude. The illicit couple have hatched a scheme to rid themselves of her inconvenient husband forever. But there is a witness to their plot: the inquisitive, nine-month-old resident of Trudy’s womb. As Trudy’s unborn son listens, bound within her body, to his mother and his uncle’s murderous plans, he gives us a truly new perspective on our world, seen from the confines of his.
