This collection of specially commissioned articles aims to shed light on the Early Modern printer's mark, a very productive Early Modern word-image so far only occasionally noted outside the domain of book history. This collection of 17 specially commissioned articles aims to shed light on the European printer’s mark, a very productive Early Modern word-image genre so far only occasionally noted outside the domain of book history. It does so from the perspectives of book history, literary history, especially emblem scholarship, and art history. The various contributions to the volume address issues such as those of the adoption of printer's devices in the place of the older heraldic printer's marks as a symptom of the changing self-image of the representatives of the Early Modern printing profession, of the mutual influence of emblems and printer's marks, of the place of Classical learning in the design of Humanist printer's marks, of the economic factors involved in the evolution of Early Modern printer's marks, the pictorial topics of the Early Modern printer's mark, and the printer's mark as a result of the 'Verbürgerlichung' of the device of Early Modern nobility. Special care was taken to account for the similarities and differences of the printer's marks produced and used in different regional and cultural contexts. English summary: Remembering and forgetting are ubiquitous phenomena in the context of literary history. There are many authors that no one remembers, because socio-cultural change often changes the context for collective memory processes. Almost-forgotten writer Karl Christian Muller (pseudonym: Teut Ansolt) from the county of Saarland is phenomenological evidence of this. Since the late Weimar Republic, he has been one of the most prominent and controversial leaders and authors of the German Youth Movement. In post-war Germany he took on cultural tasks in a prominent position, which included chairman of the Saarland Author Association and the Saarland Cultural Committee as well as managing director of the Germany-Foundation. He also committed himself to maintaining the reconstruction and the establishment of Trucht as an autonomous group of boys. His work includes poetry, drama, and amateur dramatics, several short stories and novellas, critical writings as well as his late work, which identifies him both as an outstanding poet of nature and a historical poet with a passion for experiment. Autoren, die keiner mehr kennt, gibt es viele, da der soziokulturelle Wandel oftmals den Rahmen fur kollektive Erinnerungsprozesse verandert. In der Nachkriegszeit ubernahm er an herausgehobener Stelle Aufgaben im Kulturbetrieb, u. a. als Vorsitzender des Saarlandischen Autorenverbandes und des Saarlandischen Kulturkreises, und engagierte sich fur den Neuaufbau und die Etablierung der Trucht als autonome Jungengruppe. Sein uber funfzig Jahre hinweg entstandenes Werk umfasst Lyrik, Dramen und Laienspiele, mehrere Erzahlungen und Novellen, kulturkritische Schriften sowie ein Spatwerk, das ihn sowohl als herausragenden Naturlyriker als auch experimentierfreudigen Geschichtslyriker ausweist.

English summary: Zaccaria Giacometti has made many significant contributions to the study of Swiss constitutional law. Of particular interest are his papers on the legitimacy of the Staatsnotrecht (national emergency law), which have made him known beyond his country's borders. However, his opinion on this subject has never been the subject of comprehensive and in depth analysis. Rafael Kuffer closes this gap by presenting the political, economic and academic contexts of Giacometti's statements, causing Giacometti's teachings to appear in a completely new light. Dabei wird seine Position regelmassig als liberal, positivistisch und der Lehre Kelsens nahe stehend gekennzeichnet. Rafael Kuffer bringt auch in dieser Hinsicht neue Erkenntnisse, indem er darlegt, dass man mit einer solchen Etikettierung Giacomettis differenzierter und mitunter auch widerspruchlicher Argumentation nicht gerecht werden kann.

Am Beispiel des Fürstentums Birkenfeld wird in dieser Studie der scheinbar abrupte Rollenwechsel zwischen Volk und Obrigkeit untersucht, der mit der Revolution von 1848/49 einherging. Anhand von vielfältigen Quellen gelingt durch exakte historische Kontextualisierung und Analyse eine dichte Beschreibung der Vorgänge in dem nach spätabsolutistisch-aufgeklärter Manier regierten Fürstentum. Die im Spannungsfeld zwischen Volk und Obrigkeit geführten Diskurse werden unter Anwendung von Michel Foucaults Konzept der Gouvernementalität und den Modellen der Sozialen Rolle und der Theatralität ausgewertet. Es zeigt sich, dass die paternalistische Regierungsweise der scheinbar wohlmeinenden Obrigkeit zunehmend als 'alles bevormundende[n] Vielregiererei' empfunden wurde. Mit den Begrifflichkeiten Foucaults kann 'Väterlichkeit' als Dispositiv und 'Belehrung' als eine Technik der 'Väterlichkeit' verstanden werden. Aber der väterlichen Regierung musste zwangsläufig ein kindliches und somit unmündiges Volk gegenüberstehen. Mit der Revolution 1848/49 wurden neue Rollen denkbar, sagbar und schließlich umsetzbar. Aus dem unbedarften Landeskind konnte ein mündiger Bürger werden. Die Studie leistet einen Beitrag zur historisch arbeitenden Kulturanthropologie, indem sie die Veränderungen der kulturellen Ordnungs- und Deutungssysteme sowie der politischen Praktiken im Kontext der Revolution 1848/49 herausarbeitet und analysiert.

Juni 1933 (Gesetz uber die Aufhebung der im Kampf fur die nationale Erhebung erlittenen Dienststrafen und sonstigen Massregelungen) bestimmte die vollumfangliche Rehabilitierung solcher Beamter, die vor 1933 aus nationalsozialistischer Gesinnung heraus Disziplinarstrafen oder sonstige Massregelungen aufgrund ihres Eintretens gegen die Weimarer Republik erfahren hatten. Mit dem Erlass der Amnestie verdeutlichten die Nationalsozialisten, dass auch fur die Beamtenschaft eine neue Ara angebrochen war. Das Gesetz wurde als eine einseitige Zweckamnestie und ein Spezialpardon fur die alten Nationalsozialisten in der Beamtenschaft konzipiert. Nadja Krull untersucht diese Rechtsvorschriften in der Theorie, aber auch ihre Anwendung in der Praxis.
