Knowledge and expertise are highly valued in today's business world. These values are introduced at an early age by our education system, and at work, we are assessed based on what we know"on having the answers and solutions. Our need for certainty, to know what's going on, to have all the answers, exerts strong pressure in our lives. This important book offers an alternative, contrarian approach to dealing with such pressures"to embrace not knowing rather than fearing it. The authors argue that it is by not knowing that we in fact develop an exploratory mindset, and discover, engage, and create new ways to deal with business and management problems and issues. The book is supported by stories of individuals and the positive change they made in their lives through not knowing. Solving new problems with old ways of thinking are no longer useful in the new world.

Nineteen-year-old Little Lea lives in a rural town where life ends at the edge of the forest. When a stranger loses his dog on the first day after the end of the world, Little Lea warns him not to follow it into the forest, that people who enter never come out. Over a shared joint, she tells him about the burning in her gut, winding a tale of loss, desire, and conspiracies. Little Lea sees the world through backcountry eyes that distrust the outsiders who come but who also get to leave. When she isn’t working at her mother’s grocery store, she cares for her empty-headed younger sister, Nora, who only cries when she’s in pain. Meanwhile, her friend Catalina does nothing but cry. Little Lea wants Javier to love her, and she doesn’t want Marco, who leaves weed and his best potatoes on her doorstep. As the town prepares for their end-of-the-world festival, she faces her intensifying desire to leave, that burning that unsettles her life—she wants to be useful somewhere else, even if it means being unloved, unwanted, unable to return. That’s all she knows. In a formally ambitious sustained monologue meant to distract the man as the forest does its work, Elisa Levi’s That’s All I Know explores the toll of caring for those who cannot care for themselves, the fear of the unknown that anchors people to unfulfilling lives, and the bravery it takes to stop deceiving oneself, to give in to longing.

In 2154, it has been over a century since the history of Homo sapiens was re-written due to an illegal scientific organization known as The Cult. They broke all the rules to experiment on humans and create genetically enhanced anthromorphs, mixing animal and human gene traits to create a superior race. Naïve and isolated, Kate Parker believes the solution to dealing with her problems is ignorance. Growing up as the only child of two A-list Hollywood stars, limelight has always enveloped her like a glorified prison cell, so she finds solace in self-made solitude while coping with her mother’s death. When she begins college, she meets bianthromorph James Taylor, and their bond redefines the course of Homo sapiens history. When The Cult targets Kate to assist in their dark objective, she must turn from ignorance into full knowledge of a world erupting in chaos where issues of right and wrong are no longer clear. James has always been isolated due to his differences; Kate once chose to isolate herself. Now, they enter the fray in order to preserve what’s left of humanity and stop an evil super power.

Justification As Ignorance

Justification As Ignorance written by Sven Rosenkranz and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-09 with Philosophy categories.
Justification as Ignorance offers an original account of epistemic justification as both non-factive and luminous, vindicating core internalist intuitions without construing justification as an internal condition knowable by reflection alone. Sven Rosenkranz conceives of justification, in its doxastic and propositional varieties, as a kind of epistemic possibility of knowing and of being in a position to know. His account contrasts with recent alternative views that characterize justification in terms of the metaphysical possibility of knowing. Instead, he develops a suitable non-normal multi-modal epistemic logic for knowledge and being in a position to know that respects the finding that these notions create hyperintensional contexts. He also defends his conception of justification against well-known anti-luminosity arguments, shows that the account allows for fruitful applications and principled solutions to the lottery and preface paradoxes, and provides a metaphysics of justification and its varying degrees of strength that is compatible with core assumptions of the knowledge-first approach and disjunctivist conceptions of mental states.
