Lectures On Nonlinear Hyperbolic Differential Equations written by Lars Hörmander and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997-07-17 with Mathematics categories.
In this introductory textbook, a revised and extended version of well-known lectures by L. Hörmander from 1986, four chapters are devoted to weak solutions of systems of conservation laws. Apart from that the book only studies classical solutions. Two chapters concern the existence of global solutions or estimates of the lifespan for solutions of nonlinear perturbations of the wave or Klein-Gordon equation with small initial data. Four chapters are devoted to microanalysis of the singularities of the solutions. This part assumes some familiarity with pseudodifferential operators which are standard in the theory of linear differential operators, but the extension to the more exotic classes of opertors needed in the nonlinear theory is presented in complete detail.

Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations written by Serge Alinhac and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-06-17 with Mathematics categories.
This excellent introduction to hyperbolic differential equations is devoted to linear equations and symmetric systems, as well as conservation laws. The book is divided into two parts. The first, which is intuitive and easy to visualize, includes all aspects of the theory involving vector fields and integral curves; the second describes the wave equation and its perturbations for two- or three-space dimensions. Over 100 exercises are included, as well as "do it yourself" instructions for the proofs of many theorems. Only an understanding of differential calculus is required. Notes at the end of the self-contained chapters, as well as references at the end of the book, enable ease-of-use for both the student and the independent researcher.

The following chapters summarize lectures given in March 2001 during the summerschool on Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations which took place at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in Germany. This type of meeting is originally funded by the Volkswa genstiftung in Hannover (Germany) with the aim to bring together well-known leading experts from special mathematical, physical and engineering fields of interest with PhD students, members of Scientific Research Institutes as well as people from Industry, in order to learn and discuss modern theoretical and numerical developments. Hyperbolic partial differential equations play an important role in various applications from natural sciences and engineering. Starting from the classical Euler equations in fluid dynamics, several other hyperbolic equations arise in traffic flow problems, acoustics, radiation transfer, crystal growth etc. The main interest is concerned with nonlinear hyperbolic problems and the special structures, which are characteristic for solutions of these equations, like shock and rarefaction waves as well as entropy solutions. As a consequence, even numerical schemes for hyperbolic equations differ significantly from methods for elliptic and parabolic equations: the transport of information runs along the characteristic curves of a hyperbolic equation and consequently the direction of transport is of constitutive importance. This property leads to the construction of upwind schemes and the theory of Riemann solvers. Both concepts are combined with explicit or implicit time stepping techniques whereby the chosen order of accuracy usually depends on the expected dynamic of the underlying solution.

The Theory Of Quantaloids written by K I Rosenthal and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-22 with Mathematics categories.
This book presents a detailed account of the theory of quantaloids, a natural generalization of quantales. The basic theory, examples and construction are given and particular emphasis is placed on the free quantaloid construction, as well as on the perspective provided by enriched categories.

Real Analytic And Algebraic Singularities written by Toshisumi Fukui and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997-12-12 with Mathematics categories.
This book contains a collection of papers covering recent progress in a number of areas of singularity theory. Topics include blow analyticity, recent progress in the research on equivalence relations of maps and functions, sufficiency of jets, and the transversality theorem. . Geometric and analytic studies of partial differential equations have been developed independently of one another, but the shock wave solutions appearing in natural phenomena are not well understood. Singularity theory may unify these studies and a survey based on this viewpoint is presented in which a new notion of weak solution is introduced. There are also reports on the recent progress in Zariski's conjecture on multiplicities of hypersurfaces, transcendency of analytic sets and on the topology of weighted homogeneous polynomials. This book will be of particular interest to specialists in singularities, partial differential equations, algebraic geometry and control theory.

Random Geometrically Graph Directed Self Similar Multifractals written by Lars Olsen and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-12 with Mathematics categories.
Multifractal theory was introduced by theoretical physicists in 1986. Since then, multifractals have increasingly been studied by mathematicians. This new work presents the latest research on random results on random multifractals and the physical thermodynamical interpretation of these results. As the amount of work in this area increases, Lars Olsen presents a unifying approach to current multifractal theory. Featuring high quality, original research material, this important new book fills a gap in the current literature available, providing a rigorous mathematical treatment of multifractal measures.
