Printed in COLOR We thought we would assemble a list of active combatant ships in the North Korean Navy. We tried to include a photo of each as well as the general performance and weapons. Some of the information is not available, and some of the photographs are not in the public domain, so we did the best we could. We decided to print the book in color so some of the details readily stand out. It's pretty obvious that the North Korean Navy has given up trying to launch anti-submarine helicopters from ships and are focusing on smaller, stealthier boats. Some of the more interesting boats we found were the SECRET mystery boats such as: Very Slender Vessels (VSL) Low-Observable Torpedo Boats Submersible Infiltration Landing Craft

Printed in color. North Korea is estimated to have up to 70 active submarines of various sizes. There have been numerous reports in the press that North Korea is currently building a larger ballistic missile submarine capable of launching 3 ballistic missiles. Analysts believe the North Koreans are refitting a Project 633 class Soviet diesel electric submarine, "Romeo" class hull by stretching the hull to accommodate the three missiles. Very little is known about the submarine, however we assume it will not include nuclear-power propulsion. Although the specs are closely held secrets, there were some clues. Anyway, this is what we think they will look like when they are finally built. The information contained in the book is believed to be factual, however there is a lot of disinformation on this subject in open source material, so we used our best judgement based on the available information. If you see anything that needs to be corrected, please contact us on our web site: https: //usgovpub.com and we will make the necessary corrections. China Surface Warships, 2019 - 2020. Color photos of active Chinese PLA Navy Surface Warships Recently it was announced that China's PLA Navy now has more ships (300) than the U.S. Navy (287). This book covers the bulk of Beijing's Navy including destroyers, frigates, and corvettes. These categories have seen more growth since 2005 than any other. The rapid growth of ships in these categories is in keeping with the Military Strategy China released in 2015 which states, "... the PLA Navy (PLAN) will gradually shift its focus from "offshore waters defense" to the combination of "offshore waters defense" with "open seas protection," and build a combined, multi-functional and efficient marine combat force structure." The launching of new ships is in addition to retiring very old ships (pre-1990) and modernizing ships build after that. U.S. Navy ships are larger, and the U.S. has more aircraft carriers - China has one active, one being fitted out and 2 (or 3) being built. We plan to go into China's aircraft carriers in depth in another book in the fall if there is enough interest. This book does not go into the ships of the PLA Navy Reserve Force, the People's Armed Police (PAP) or the China Militia (中国民). Those could be another book if there is enough interest). This book sheds light on one of the most under-studied but powerful navies in the world. Using a multifaceted approach, it examines how the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) has sought to transform itself from a coastal naval force focused solely on deterring North Korea to a navy capable of operating in the blue waters of East Asia and beyond. The project argues that peninsular and regional security dynamics, technological developments, the US-South Korea alliance and internal politics combine to inform and shape ROKN modernisation.

North Korea, as a nation, has been going down the road of self-discovery since they were severed from South Korea in 1953. Trying to identify themselves as a world class nation, they have built one of the larger armies in today’s world. This is the road they seem to feel must be taken to attain international stature. Most of the rest of the world sees it differently. The United States of America becomes aware of North Korea’s preparations to attack their homeland and are working toward a better dialog with the them. Having no success with diplomacy, the United Nations initiate sanctions to pressure the leaders of North Korea to back down with their nuclear and missile development. They do not. Sanctions present hardships for the people, but the leaders think they can force the world to accept them as a nation and they ignore them.

Printed in COLOR I gotta say I was impressed when I began looking into the Japanese Navy ships. They also have a terrific Coast Guard (around 60 ships). You will notice that I show F-35B aircraft landing on the aircraft carriers and also on the helicopter landing area on the destroyers. Not sure they can do that in rough seas, but if Elon Musk can land a rocket on a barge in the ocean, I'm confident the Japanese Navy can land an F-35B on a destroyer. Perhaps a computer on board the ship could take over controls of the F-35B during landings to compensate for the motion of the ship? This is the third book on Surface Warships we published. Generally, we stick to surface ships over 600 tons. Other books include China, Russia and Iran.

The American culture is largely an extension of the old-time European culture whereas the Eastern Asian culture is mostly an extension of the ancient Chinese culture. Is it any wonder, then, that people living on different sides of the world don’t understand each other and sometimes see one other as enemies? Peking King, a native of Hong Kong and a naturalized U.S. citizen who has traveled frequently to China, examines China’s role in the Cold War, the Vietnam War, and its current relationship with North and South Korea in this political analysis and treatise. He explains that North Korea is an absolute monarchy government and that Kim Jong-un doesn’t want to unify with South Korea or denuclearize his country. He also argues that both the Chinese and North Korean governments do not want a war against America. Get updated knowledge about Chinese foreign politics toward North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and America—and glean insights that foreign powers would prefer the world not know in this book.

From rubber landing boats to picket boats to minesweepers, smaller support vessels did much of the work of the Korean War, and endured many of the dangers and hardships. Rarely mentioned in histories of the war, they served functions essential to keeping the United States Navy and the United Nations partners in active duty. This volume delivers an overview of the various kinds of vessels involved, the difficulties of mobilizing the aging American fleet at a time when a significant downsizing had been expected, and the design and specification considerations of the support vessels needed for the new war effort. It lists the individual support vessels and details the degree of their involvement, often providing photographs as well as comments from men who served aboard the ships.
