Filosofi diperlukan untuk menetapkan apa yang menjadi landasan berpikir untuk melihat masa depan ditengah-tengah beragam pilihan dengan tujuan yang saling bertentangan. Prioritas, seperti yang disampaikan Pareto, adalah mencari kegiatan utama dengan urut-urutan yang tepat karena dapat menyumbang sebagian besar keberhasilan. Budaya disiplin adalah modal penting untuk membangun posisi maju ke depan. Filosofi sistem pembangunan peternakan sapi potong berbasis masyarakat yang berorientasi pada penyediaan daging bermutu beku (frozen) melalui proses produksi di Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) berteknologi ramah lingkungan, ditopang oleh pemberdayaan peternak sebagai pemasok ternak. Prioritas yang menjadi temuan hasil riset adalah sistem produksi daging sapi beku yang dihasilkan dari pendekatan analitis jejaring yang mempertimbangkan merit Benefits, Opportunities, Costs, and Risks (BOCR). Model ini memiliki struktur multi-layer lengkap diberikan nama Model SBPS-ANP (Selection of Beef Production Systems-ANP Model). Sintesis sepuluh kriteria bermakna yang dihasilkan oleh Model SBPS-ANP dan isu-isu strategis rantai nilai daging sapi di Indonesia, selanjutnya menjadi ide dasar dalam pengembangan model bisnis komoditas daging sapi beku yang diwujudkan pada sentra produksi ternak sapi di pedesaan Bali, yang penulis berikan nama Model CBVC-BUMDes (Community Based Value Chain-BUMDes Model). Model rantai nilai berbasis masyarakat ini melibatkan BUMDes dan BUM antar desa. Kedua model yang menjadi basis novelty itu merupakan hasil integrasi proses berpikir intuitif dan analitis.

Keberagaman produk pangan baik beras maupun daging yang ditawarkan di pasaran membuat konsumen dapat memilih pangan sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Kualitas beras atau daging, termasuk kemasan dan harga memiliki hubungan dengan tingkat pendapatan konsumen. Artinya, jika konsumen memiliki pendapatan tinggi maka ada kecenderungan untuk memilih jenis pangan dengan kualitas, kemasan, serta harga yang lebih tinggi pula. Hal tersebut berkaitan dengan adanya perilaku konsumen seperti faktor budaya, sosial, dan psikologis yang memengaruhi preferensi mereka dalam keputusannya membeli produk sesuai yang diinginkan.
