Faced with new levels of savage competition, tens of thousands of companies, including fierce competitors, are sharing their resources and expertise to develop new products, achieve larger scale economies, and gain access to new technology and new markets. These strategic alliances are justifiably hailed by many as the competitive weapon of the 1990s. But because they are blurring and reshaping the very structure and boundaries of corporations in unprecedented ways, the process of designing and managing these alliances confronts managers with the awesome task of inventing theory and practice on a daily basis. Up to now, they have had few places to turn for guidance.

Partnerships are the lifeblood of e-commerce. Innovative alliances such as private exchanges, self-service partnerships, syndicated e-commerce, affiliate programs, and e-learning forums are today's new competitive advantage. In Partners.com, Michael Cunningham shows businesses how to forge leading-edge Internet partnerships fast--with competitors, customers, suppliers, distributors, employees, and other businesses--and foster an environment that will allow them to flourish. From Amazon's consumer affiliate program to General Motors' state-of-the-art business-to-business mega-hub, COVISINT, Cunningham demonstrates how relationships that would have taken years to develop prior to the Internet are now taking days and hours. As businesses focus on finding profitable strategies, partnerships will not be just one option, they will be the new weapons for succeeding in e-commerce.

Are you identifying the right deals and making them profitable? Or are you haggling over who gets the biggest piece of the pie, rather than working out how to make the pie bigger? This book will help you identify, develop and safeguard added value, which means that both businesses in the partnership can develop and grow with reduced risk. Not just any partner and not just any deal will do. An international study based on over 20,000 negotiations revealed that a huge amount of time is wasted on producing deals that are often of only marginal merit. This book will help you identify the deals which are worth doing and set you on the right track to make them profitable. "Negotiating Partnerships" will take you through dozens of areas where additional value can be found, to make win-win partnership deals that really work for you. You will learn how to identify opportunities and conclude better deals at the same time as making the other party feel good. This book sets out key steps to co-operative negotiation so that you have the know-how to achieve profitable partnerships. The partnering process is one that makes sense in any line of business from online retail to manufacturing via everything in between. As the business environment becomes tougher, and margins are continually shaved this book will help you maintain and grow your existing profit. In all cases, a partnership should provide better solutions than those currently available to each party separately. With this book you can achieve partnerships, which reduce costs and risks, improve earnings and at the same time reap the benefit of each other's experience, creativity and contacts. Yes, it is important for theother party in a partnership to be satisfied. But it is your job as a negotiator to try to ensure that you can keep to yourself most of the added value created. This book will help you through this process so that you find and retain good and valuable partnerships.

In the late 1990s the idea of cross-sector collaborations was relatively new in Europe. The term ‘partnership’ was employed primarily to refer to partnerships between government and businesses, usually termed PPP (Public Private Partnerships). On the other hand ‘strategic alliances’ was the term employed for business-to-business partnerships. Until then ‘sponsorship’ was the most practised associational form between nonprofit organisations (NPOs) and businesses (BUSs), which was included within the broad area of corporate community involvement. The relations between NPOs and BUSs witnessed a gradual intensification over the last 200 years (Gray 1989; Young 1999; Austin 2000; Googins and Rochlin 2000) resulting in increased interactions within both the philanthropic and trans- tional types of relationships (Seitanidi and Ryan 2007). However, the more recent gradual prominence of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) within all sectors of society elicited an intensification of the debate with regard to the responsibilities of each sector in addressing environmental and social issues. In effect, CSR contributed to the increase of the interactions across the sectors and propelled NPO-BUS Partnerships (a type of social partnership) as a key mechanism for corporations to delve into a process of engaging with NPOs in order to improve their business practices by contributing their resources to address social issues (Heap 1998; Mohiddin 1998; Fowler 2000; Googins and Rochlin 2000; Mancuso Brehm 2001; Drew 2003; Hemphill and Vonortas 2003).

The New Partnership written by Tom Melohn and has been published by Omne_o this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Employee empowerment categories.

"Across America, there is a clear sense that companies must manage people in innovative, flexible ways that could not have been imagined in the previous decade. Wading through this maze of new management approaches, from self-directed work teams to empowerment to total quality, often leaves companies, their management, and employees completely confused without any significant bottom-line results." "Above this din of the latest management "fad," The New Partnership offers a new currency that can produce real bottom-line results in any organization. Based on timeless concepts such as trust, honesty, dignity, equality, mutual respect, teamwork, recognition, and caring, Tom Melohn (CEO, owner, and "Head Sweeper") and his partners produced remarkable results in a company called North American Tool & Die. And as a result, NATD forged a lasting "new partnership" with each coworker, customer, and supplier." "The New Partnership reveals the stories, insights, candid experiences, and combined wisdom of Melohn and his partners during their twelve year odyssey. You'll see how they transformed their company through restoring fundamental values to the workplace." "From "Hiring Eagles" to "Quality in the Head and the Heart" to "It All Starts with Honesty," you'll also see how to make the NATD experience a reality in your company, division, or department. Each chapter delivers insights, "plain talk," and partnership action steps that will help make the New Partnership a reality for you." "In contrast, Melohn also vividly describes how most big corporations avoid dealing with these fundamental values. These stories, found in every chapter, show how the results of continued neglect are accelerating the decline of these organizations." "The real lesson of The New Partnership is simple....If you reach out and genuinely care for your fellow employees, there is no limit to what you can accomplish. And you can achieve these same results in your job, at no added cost - except for your lasting commitment to your "new partners.""--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
