The essays in this volume, structured like a small dictionary, investigate some themes philosophically relevant to the public sphere, such as: common sense, death, individuation, liberty, public/private, responsibility, secularization, social justice, and work. They explore some philosophical lines of thought, some paths, within that sphere, which inevitably cross one another, from one essay to the next. Their aim is to show the relevance of philosophical reflection on the public sphere - the place in which philosophy ultimately finds its historical a priori and its very reason for being. Ethics In The Light Of Hermeneutical Philosophy written by Andrzej Przylebski and has been published by LIT Verlag Münster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Philosophy categories.

The hermeneutic turn of philosophy, initiated by Dilthey and Heidegger, led to a reevaluation of understanding of the classical disciplines of philosophy, from ontology and epistemology to aesthetics and ethics. The cognitive importance of these disciplines have been relativized to the cultural conditions in which they operate. With regard to ethics, it does not lead to the creation of some new "hermeneutic ethics," but to the hermeneutic approach to ethics which underlines the value of existing morality and reduces the pretensions of philosophical ethics to universal validity. This book presents it on the ground of a solid and innovatory analysis of ethical considerations of Schleiermacher, Nietzsche, Dilthey, Heidegger, Gadamer, Ricoeur, and Guenter Abel. Truth And Experience written by Gaetano Chiurazzi and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-14 with Philosophy categories.

The spirit of this book is explorative. It meets the contemporary challenge posed by experience and truth with a critical openness that allows for the full complexity of these concepts to be investigated. The distinction between experience and truth has become subject to finitude; how then can these words and concepts be defined? What might be understood by experience and truth, when the distinction between them is not transformed once and for all (eternally), but once and again (historically)? The contributors to the book investigate a wide range of questions revolving around this challenge to the contemporary understanding of experience and truth. They do so through the perspectives of phenomenology and hermeneutics, while also shedding new light on phenomenological and hermeneutic thought as such – on the distinction between phenomenology and hermeneutics, as well as on the interrelation between such philosophical thought and other fields of thought and culture.

Hermeneutics written by Andrzej Przylebski and has been published by LIT Verlag Münster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with categories.

The book presents the development of hermeneutics, from reflection on the techniques and rules of correct interpretation of cultural products, through theoretical speculations on the essence of interpretation, to the emergence of a certain direction of contemporary philosophy. A direction for which the concepts of understanding and interpretation become basic categories, a kind of guiding thread reaching to the foundations of philosophical knowledge. The author presented the emergence of hermeneutics as a separate field of humanities education. The novelty of this book is an attempt to formulate – on the basis of the findings of the classics of contemporary hermeneutics: Dilthey, Heidegger, Gadamer and Ricoeur – the foundations of the hermeneutic position in ontology, epistemology, aesthetics, ethics, politics and anthropology.

We will ask questions such as: What is the nature of knowledge? How do we know what we know? Is there such a thing as certain knowledge? **Ethics** is the study of right and wrong. We will ask questions such as: What is the good life? What are our moral obligations to others? How should we resolve moral conflicts? **Political philosophy** is the study of government and society.
