Synchronization, consensus and flocking are ubiquitous requirements in networked systems. Pinning Control of Complex Networked Systems investigates these requirements by using the pinning control strategy, which aims to control the whole dynamical network with huge numbers of nodes by imposing controllers for only a fraction of the nodes. As the direct control of every node in a dynamical network with huge numbers of nodes might be impossible or unnecessary, it’s then very important to use the pinning control strategy for the synchronization of complex dynamical networks. The research on pinning control strategy in consensus and flocking of multi-agent systems can not only help us to better understand the mechanisms of natural collective phenomena, but also benefit applications in mobile sensor/robot networks. This book offers a valuable resource for researchers and engineers working in the fields of control theory and control engineering. Housheng Su is an Associate Professor at the Department of Control Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China; Xiaofan Wang is a Professor at the Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

This book focuses on the control and state estimation problems for dynamical network systems with complex samplings subject to various network-induced phenomena. It includes a series of control and state estimation problems tackled under the passive sampling fashion. Further, it explains the effects from the active sampling fashion, i.e., event-based sampling is examined on the control/estimation performance, and novel design technologies are proposed for controllers/estimators. Simulation results are provided for better understanding of the proposed control/filtering methods. By drawing on a variety of theories and methodologies such as Lyapunov function, linear matrix inequalities, and Kalman theory, sufficient conditions are derived for guaranteeing the existence of the desired controllers and estimators, which are parameterized according to certain matrix inequalities or recursive matrix equations. Covers recent advances of control and state estimation for dynamical network systems with complex samplings from the engineering perspective Systematically introduces the complex sampling concept, methods, and application for the control and state estimation Presents unified framework for control and state estimation problems of dynamical network systems with complex samplings Exploits a set of the latest techniques such as linear matrix inequality approach, Vandermonde matrix approach, and trace derivation approach Explains event-triggered multi-rate fusion estimator, resilient distributed sampled-data estimator with predetermined specifications This book is aimed at researchers, professionals, and graduate students in control engineering and signal processing.

Final chapters consider finite-time output synchronization and H-infinity output synchronization problems, and multiple weighted coupled reaction-diffusion neural networks (CRDNNs) with and without coupling delays. Other topics covered in Dynamical Behaviors of Multiweighted Complex Network Systems include: Criteria of FTP for complex dynamical networks with multiple state couplings (CDNMSCs), formulated by utilizing the PD controller Finite-time passivity (FTP) concepts for the spatially and temporally systems with different dimensions of output and input FTS and finite time H-infinity synchronization problems for CDNs with multiple state/derivative couplings by utilizing state feedback control approach and selecting suitable parameter adjustment schemes Adaptive output synchronization and output synchronization of CDNs with multiple output or output derivative couplings, and other adaptive control schemes Enabling readers to understand foundational concepts and grasp the latest research, Dynamical Behaviors of Multiweighted Complex Network Systems is essential for all who study neural networks, complex networks, synchronization, passivity, and their applications.

Collective Behavior In Complex Networked Systems Under Imperfect Communication written by Jianquan Lu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-06 with Computers categories.

This book aims to explain how collective behavior is formed via local interactions under imperfect communication in complex networked systems. It also presents some new distributed protocols or algorithms for complex networked systems to comply with bandwidth limitation and tolerate communication delays. This book will be of particular interest to the readers due to the benefits: 1) it studies the effect of time delay and quantization on the collective behavior by non-smooth analytical technique and algebraic graph theory; 2) it introduces the event-based consensus method under delayed information transmission; In the meantime, it presents some novel approaches to handle the communication constraints in networked systems; 3) it gives some synchronization and control strategies for complex networked systems with limited communication abilities. Furthermore, it provides a consensus recovery approach for multi-agent systems with node failure. Also, it presentsinteresting results about bipartite consensus and fixed-time/finite-time bipartite consensus of networks with cooperative and antagonistic interactions.

A treatise on investigating tracking control and synchronization control of fractional-order nonlinear systems with system uncertainties, external disturbance, and input saturation Robust Adaptive Control for Fractional-Order Systems, with Disturbance and Saturation provides the reader with a good understanding on how to achieve tracking control and synchronization control of fractional-order nonlinear systems with system uncertainties, external disturbance, and input saturation. Although some texts have touched upon control of fractional-order systems, the issues of input saturation and disturbances have rarely been considered together. This book offers chapter coverage of fractional calculus and fractional-order systems; fractional-order PID controller and fractional-order disturbance observer; design of fractional-order controllers for nonlinear chaotic systems and some applications; sliding mode control for fractional-order nonlinear systems based on disturbance observer; disturbance observer based neural control for an uncertain fractional-order rotational mechanical system; adaptive neural tracking control for uncertain fractional-order chaotic systems subject to input saturation and disturbance; stabilization control of continuous-time fractional positive systems based on disturbance observer; sliding mode synchronization control for fractional-order chaotic systems with disturbance; and more. Based on the approximation ability of the neural network (NN), the adaptive neural control schemes are reported for uncertain fractional-order nonlinear systems Covers the disturbance estimation techniques that have been developed to alleviate the restriction faced by traditional feedforward control and reject the effect of external disturbances for uncertain fractional-order nonlinear systems By combining the NN with the disturbance observer, the disturbance observer based adaptive neural control schemes have been studied for uncertain fractional-order nonlinear systems with unknown disturbances Considers, together, the issue of input saturation and the disturbance for the control of fractional-order nonlinear systems in the present of system uncertainty, external disturbance, and input saturation Robust Adaptive Control for Fractional-Order Systems, with Disturbance and Saturation can be used as a reference for the academic research on fractional-order nonlinear systems or used in Ph.D. study of control theory and engineering.

In the fields of dynamical systems and control theory, a fractional-order system is a dynamical system that can be modeled by a fractional differential equation containing derivatives of non-integer order. In control systems, sliding mode control (SMC) is a nonlinear control method that alters the dynamics of a nonlinear system by applying a discontinuous control signal (or more rigorously, a set-valued control signal) that forces the system to "slide" along a cross-section of the system's normal behavior. Sliding Mode Control of Fractional-order Systems discusses the design of several types of fractional-order systems. Sliding mode control strategy allows the exploration of the problems of projection synchronization control, finite-time stability, asymptotic stability, and formation control of fractional-order systems, which make up the shortages in the analysis and design of fractional-order systems. The book focuses on several types of fractional-order control systems, combined with the sliding-mode control (SMC) and event-triggered control, the problems of projection synchronization control, finite-time stability, asymptotic stability, and formation control for those systems are explored, which makes up the shortages in the analysis and design of fractional-order systems. - Provides a comprehensive and clear explanation of recent developments in sliding mode control of fractional-order systems - Unifies existing and emerging concepts concerning sliding mode control of fractional-order systems - Provides a series of the latest results in, including but not limited to, projective synchronization control, exponential consensus control, formation control and fractional-order event-triggered control
