In 'Poems of a Soul in Depression', Emerson S. Rocha takes us on an intimate and profound journey through the complexities of the human experience. With expertly woven words, the author expresses the raw emotions, the ups and downs, and the internal struggles of someone facing depression. Each poem is a dive into the whirlwind of feelings, revealing pain, loneliness, but also resilience and the search for light in the midst of shadows. These words are a courageous testimony to the struggle with depression, an illness that affects so many but is rarely understood in its fullness. Through poems, Rocha invites readers to explore the interior of a soul in search of healing, and shows that, even in the darkest hours, there is room for hope and healing. by Sue Holt ISBN 13: 978 1 84747 011 9 Published: 2005 Pages: 120 Description This is Sue Holt's second collection of poetry. Sue is a poet who suffers from mental distress. Her first book Poems of Survival was Sue's opportunity to open up the Pandora's box that contained memories of her past and her day to day struggle with manic depression, in doing this she was able to emerge to begin the slow process to accept her own worth. About the Author Sue Holt was born in Liverpool in 1967 and is now living Rochdale. Shortly after the birth of her son, illness forced her to leave her job as a social worker. She was diagnosed with manic depression and has since been hospitalised on numerous occasions. In order to overcome her illness Sue developed her creative abilities, and started expressing herself through writing and sculpture. Now, having had her first collection of poems published, she is an effective campaigner fighting the stigma that surrounds mental illness. She has helped set up a group for fellow mental health survivors called 'Freedom' which provides support and training. Book Extract The Book Launch I wrote a book Of past hurts Humiliation Pain. Just Wanna Die written by James Taris and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-11 with categories.

This book is a collection of sad and depressing poems. There are even a few gruesome poems thrown in for good measure! The poems span a period of about 2 years - but critical years - at the ages of 17 and 18. These 'blue pages' are filled with the pain and agony of growing up. Very little changes when it comes to growing up. The fight for acceptance by your parents, as you move from childhood into adulthood, mixed with the pressures of study, often make the lives of teenagers, in their late teens, miserable ... sometimes bordering on suicidal. James Taris has always confessed that he wrote poetry for therapeutic reasons. And none of his poems were more therapeutic than his depressing poems. By getting his problems off his chest, James was able to solve them - or at least tolerate them - as he moved on through life. These poems are written in chronological order (newest to oldest), so you can follow James' journey through his dark years. Many readers have written to James thanking him for sharing his depressing poems with them. They have related well to his experiences and found solace in his poems. It is always refreshing to know that others have gone through the same miseries as yourself and yet still wound up leading happy and fulfilling lives. The autobiographical stories that accompany each poem also give an added dimension to these special poems. There is a growing up period that starts from our early teens. That period of adolescence when we develop from children to adults is particularly difficult. It was for me. Luckily, however, I had my poems.Growing up is a challenge for all of us. We all learn to handle it in our own special way. For me, I coped with it by writing poems.Over fifty years ago, I wrote my first song called How Does De Do. Looking at it now, I can see how unbelievably bad it was. Yet back in 1968 when I was just thirteen, it was my greatest treasure. Such is the value we place on our creations.I had never set a goal to become a poet or songwriter. My writing was always for my pleasure and amusement. On many occasions, I also used my writing for self-therapy. During my years of depression from 1972-1973, I found my poems to be extremely therapeutic.Whereas girls find it quite easy to share their feelings with their close friends, guys tend to keep their feelings bottled up. My writing was my outlet. It allowed me to externalise my feelings so I could better understand and cope with them.Fortunately, in 1974 I was introduced to positive thinking and immediately my writing took a sharp turn towards hope and ambition.Over 40 years, from 1968 to 2008, I wrote nearly 200 songs and poems. The LIFE IN RHYME Series is the collection of my most popular works. Book 1: Be My InspirationInspirational PoemsBook 2: Tickle My FancyFunny and Fun PoemsBook 3: Chance for RomanceLove PoemsBook 4: Just Wanna DieDepressing PoemsOriginally published in 4 separate books - as above - my anthology of poems has also been published in 3 other books: Careless Hairless Race and 60 Other SongsThis is a book of poetry without any narratives. It is for the poetry purists who want to form their own opinions after reading a poem.Careless Hairless Race and 60 Other StoriesThis is an autobiographical book that focuses on the stories that are related to the poems in some way. It is for the person that prefers to read true memoirs but isn't so keen on poetry.Life is Short Enjoy ItThis is a unique style of poetry book that I haven't seen before. ""This is absolutely not a collection of poems about depression. Sue Holt's beautifully crafted poetry allows us to join her on a very intimate journey, exploring fear and wonder, faith and doubt, despair and hope. Her work is both thought provoking and inspiring."" - Tom McAlpine, Chair, Mood Swings Network DescriptionThis is Sue Holt's second collection of poetry. Sue is a poet who suffers from mental distress. Her first book 'Poems of Survival' was Sue's opportunity to open up the Pandora's box that contained memories of her past and her day to day struggle with manic depression, in doing this she was able to emerge to begin the slow process to accept her own worth. 'Depression Ate My Soul' reflects growth. Over time my spirit died, years of abuse stripped me of hope, faith and trust. Manic depression stripped me bare. One evening I imagined a different future, a faint glimmer of hope was ignited, spiritually I began to grow. Each psychotic episode teaches me to take a different perspective and enables me, eventually, to move on. I believe depression ate my soul, but through the process of mental illness and my willingness to learn and adapt spiritually, I have developed a stronger, more creative, courageous one."" Sue Holt About the AuthorSue Holt is a talented poet who has struggled with manic depression for 15 years. She writes from the heart with a rare honesty that reflects how mental illness touches her life. Sue writes to express her pain while in contrast she shares her intense faith, which has given her a deep understanding of God and His immense love. Many people relate to her pain and in doing so are given the opportunity to connect with their own, and Sue's desire is that they too will begin their own spiritual journey.Sue lives in Lancashire, England, with her husband and teenage son. She is greatly inspired by nature and when not writing can be found in the garden, walking, painting and working on pieces of sculpture. She believes in healing through self expression.

Hello, this is SunShine, coming at you with wisps and wonderings of poems, all written on pages of tablets in a state mental hospital and typed up on my relatively inexpensive laptop, the one I bought while living in a van, by city parks and the river. Here, within these pages, discover the thoughts of a modern-day diagnosed young woman with bipolar disorder, committed and locked up for hearing a sole sentence of a voice from God, and well, painting all the apartment walls. Bipolar disorder, commonly known as Manic-Depression, is characterized by extreme changes in mood and behavior. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, bipolar disorder affects 2.6% of the population of the United States, approximately 5.7% million adults. Many bipolar people are extremely creative and excel in the performing arts, music, writing, painting, and photography. I suffered through an "episode" to find myself homeless, 1700 miles from my home, and broke, and then committed to the state hospital. Poetry has always been a major form of expression for me, words spilling on paper like water from a faucet. One thing we could do to mark our individuality locked up was write, (and crochet of course). I hope Poems from the Heart of Manic Depression are found to be engrossing and entertaining. They say there is no money in poetry but there is no poetry in money. Some things though are more important and money like ones soul. Though there is much in the way of poetry about the positives in life, happiness, love and friendship, not everyone is fortunate to be in a position to relate about such feelings. Whilst others have a bad day once in a while, others have a good day once in a while and that only if they are lucky. Very Sad Poetry is book of 50 poems dedicated to those who've known loss, deep sadness or loneliness and contains poems that could be said relate to feelings of depression or suicide with others dealing with experiences in a more light-hearted sort of way with dashings of gallow-humour. I hope it will be comforting for those who can relate to such feelings and maybe be of help to them to as well as those who have friends or family in such a situation.
