Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die nachfolgende Ausarbeitung beschäftigt sich mit den präventiven Möglichkeiten in der Arbeit mit psychisch kranken Kindern und Jugendlichen. Sowohl medizinische, pädagogische als auch politische Maßnahmen werden in die Ausarbeitung einfließen. Ebenfalls werden einzelne Maßnahmen, die für die Prävention bei psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter sinnvoll und förderlich sind, detailliert vorgestellt. Die Fragestellung, welche Möglichkeiten Prävention in diesem Bereich hat, entstand sowohl im Laufe des Studiums, als auch durch die eigene Arbeit mit psychisch erkrankten Kindern und Jugendlichen im klinischen Umfeld. Nach der Einführung in die Thematik folgen zunächst einige Begriffserklärungen. Nachfolgend wird das Handlungsfeld der Kinder-und Jugendpsychiatrie vorgestellt. Beginnend mit einer historischen Beleuchtung, werden daran anschließend Klassifikationsmöglichkeiten und auftretenden Symptomen sowie Komorbidität von psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes und- Jugendalter erläutert. In diesem Kapitel werden hinzukommend noch Risiko- und Schutzfaktoren sowie ausgewählte Krankheitsbilder vorgestellt. Der zweite große Teil der Ausarbeitung beschäftigt sich mit den Möglichkeiten der Prävention. Zunächst werden Herausforderungen an dieses Handlungsfeld skizziert, gefolgt von Präventionsmaßnahmen in den Bereichen Familie, Gesundheitswesen, Kindergarten und Schule. Dem Bereich der Schule wird besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Das Kapitel schließt mit politischen Aspekten im Bereich Prävention ab. Nachfolgend werden in einem geringen Rahmen die rechtlichen Grundlagen geklärt, und anschließend die Handlungsräumen der Sozialen Arbeit erläutert. Die Handlungsräume der Sozialen Arbeit werden aufgegliedert in klinische Sozialarbeit, Schulsozialarbeit und Soziale Arbeit in der Familienhilfe. Das daran anschließende Fazit greift die bearbeiteten Themen noch einmal auf und liefert einen weiteren Ausblick und zukünftige Handlungsmöglichkeiten. Die Zahl der psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter nimmt zu. Aktuell zeigen fast fünf Prozent der Kinder und Jugendlichen im Alter von drei bis siebzehn Jahren ein psychisch auffälliges Verhalten. Die Hälfte der psychischen Erkrankungen wird vor dem fünfzehnten Lebensjahr diagnostiziert. Durch frühe Prävention und ein zeitiges Einschreiten kann die Prognose wesentlich verbessert oder gar das Auftreten einer Erkrankung verhindert werden.

Die Prävention bei psychischen Erkrankungen im Kindes- und Jugendalter ist noch lange nicht ausreichend im Bewusstsein der Gesellschaft, obwohl Zahlen und Fakten alarmierend wirken sollten. Zusätzlich sind Behandlungen von psychischen Erkrankungen oft sehr kostspielig und zeitintensiv, wohingegen sich Präventionsprogramme oft ohne größeren und finanziellen Aufwand in alle Lebensbereiche von Kindern, Jugendlichen und ihren Familien installieren lassen.
