Transcranial stimulation encompasses noninvasive methods that transmit physical fields-such as magnetic, electric, ultrasound, and light-to the brain to modulate its function. A large body of molecular and neurophysiological evidence attaches synaptic plasticity and connectivity to specific functions and energy metabolism in particular areas of the brain.
