Es sollen daher die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des so genannten Social Media-Recruitings (SMR) innerhalb dieser Arbeit erläutert werden. Weitergehend ist es das Ziel dieser Arbeit zu analysieren, inwiefern SMR in Deutschland eine erfolgreiche Personalbeschaffung hinsichtlich der aufkommenden Herausforderungen unterstützen kann. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde Social Media in den letzten fünf Jahren in der Fachpresse als Medium für das Recruiting mehrfach aufgegriffen und diskutiert. Zunächst wird der Begriff Social Media erläutert. Weitergehend wird das Nutzungsverhalten der Deutschen hinsichtlich der Social Media-Kanäle beschrieben, um die Tragweite des Phänomens bezogen auf die Personalbeschaffung begreifen zu können. Darauf aufbauend wird der Begriff Social Media-Recruiting erklärt. Anschließend werden die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen dieser Personalbeschaffungsmethode analysiert und hinsichtlich der beschriebenen Trends hinterfragt. Hierzu werden verschiedene Studien herangezogen.
