Pubblicata nel 1930 ma risalente nel suo nucleo originario ad uno scritto precedente, Presentificazione e Immagine è l’innovativa tesi di dottorato che Eugen Fink scrisse sotto tutela dei due grandi maestri friburghesi dell’epoca: E. Husserl e M. Heidegger. In questa prima e sorprendente opera del giovane filosofo alle accurate analisi micrologiche sulle operazioni fondamentali della coscienza tipiche del lavoro sui fenomeni di stampo husserliano si accompagna armonicamente una riflessione di più ampio respiro sulla fenomenologia nel suo complesso. In essa sono già presenti in nuce tutti quegli elementi – anche profondamente critici – che attraverso l’elaborazione di una fenomenologia della ragione teoretica fenomenologica e la di-mostrazione della situazione esistenziale del progetto trascendentale porteranno Fink a sviluppare, per così dire “dall’interno”, un’integrazione critica della fenomenologia husserliana.

Over the last few decades, film has increasingly become an issue of philosophical reflection from an ontological and epistemological perspective, and the claim “doing philosophy through film” has raised extensive discussion about its meaning. The mechanical reproduction of reality is one of the most prominent philosophical questions raised by the emergence of film at the end of the nineteenth century, inquiring into the ontological nature of both reality and film. Yet the nature of this audio-photographic and moving reproduction of reality constitutes an ontological puzzle, which has widely been disregarded as a main line of enquiry with direct consequences for philosophy. Regarding this background, this volume brings together the best papers from the Lisbon Conference on Philosophy and Film: Thinking Reality and Time through Film, held in 2014. What they all have in common is the discussion of new aspects and approaches of how philosophy relates to film. 1928. In un hotel di Berlino Pirandello scrive con Adolf Lantz, in soli 5 giorni, il testo in lingua tedesca della Film-Novelle, bozza della sceneggiatura per un film sui Sei personaggi. Del film non se ne fece nulla, ma l’autore ne volle comunque la pubblicazione due anni dopo, nel 1930, per la casa editrice berlinese Verlag von Reimar Hobbing. Il testo, presentato qui per la prima volta in lingua originale con una nuova traduzione a fronte, sembra poterci dire ancora molto sulla concezione pirandelliana del processo di creazione artistica così come va delineandosi al culmine della sua attività di scrittore e di teorico, un processo sintetizzabile nella formula dialettica: materia-spirito-materia. Un percorso che trova una singolare convergenza, seppur guidata da intenti diversi, con le riflessioni condotte da Husserl tra il 1904 e il 1924 su percezione, immaginazione e fantasia.

The idea from which they make the contributions is that for relational ontology we can understand a theory on the structure of reality (onto-logic), attentive to the development of the explanatory and normative potential of the category of reciprocity. La filosofia sperimentale rappresenta uno sviluppo della fenomenologia sperimentale reso obbligato dall’imporsi di un fattore di-mostrativo “intravisibile” insito nel “visibile”, ma da questo anche “nascosto” fino al punto da renderlo “invisibile” non per se stesso, ma in quanto “non-visto”. Ci sono però degli indici che possono farne intravedere la funzione di-mostrativa diversa da quella logico-linguistica perché essenzialmente visiva. Un approccio metodologico idoneo a coglierla è costituito dagli esperimenti mentali, come quelli, in campo filosofico, dei paradossi cinematici di Zenone e, in campo scientifico, le “visualizzazioni” elaborate da Einstein nella teoria della relatività ristretta. La loro efficacia risulta però compromessa dal condizionamento delle corrispettive teorie. Le “visivazioni” proposte in alternativa evidenziano come una sperimentazione completamente visiva faccia conoscere, oltre ai significati dei fenomeni, i loro reali “riferiti”, visti e non solo pensati teoricamente o calcolati matematicamente.
