El presente libro recoge de forma sistematizada las actividades y la aplicación de un programa extraescolar para altas capacidades denominado Programa Integral para Altas Capacidades (PIPAC). El objetivo global del mismo es contribuir al desarrollo integral de los niños con alta capacidad en el ámbito cognitivo, socioafectivo y del comportamiento. Este libro tiene un carácter práctico, presentando para cada nivel de edad la programación de un curso, donde se especifican las actividades a llevar a cabo en las sesiones correspondientes a cada uno de los trimestres. Para cada sesión se detallan las actividades a desarrollar, explicando su objetivo, los indicadores que indican si se han completado, los materiales necesarios y el tiempo destinado para el desarrollo de cada tarea. Finalmente, y dada la relevancia que desde el equipo damos a la evaluación del programa, al final del libro se presentan diversos instrumentos para la evaluación, tanto formativos como sumativos. El PIPAC comenzó a impartirse en el año 2004 en la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de La Laguna, España. En la actualidad se lleva a cabo en dos universidades de México. Teniendo en cuenta su amplia experiencia y su aplicación en otros contextos, dicho programa puede ser utilizado para el objetivo que se plantea: el desarrollo integral del alumnado con altas capacidades intelectuales.
