Trail of Blood—I Fall Down a Lot documented the author’s courtship story with then Fiancé Sir Bugs or Adonis Celaje Ampongan. They had been in a Long Distance Relationship from May 2, 2021 to January 29, 2022. In this book, you can rekindle their love story together as she fights the voices, she sought to train her mind to sing Baptist Hymnals (for it soothes her weary soul) and read the word of God. The first chapter was on the spot, written on the dates provided, actual poems birthed or sowed during the said days. Let the author warm your heart with by opening the gateway to the poetic and metaphorical. This book is for the hopeless romantics. Adonis Celaje Ampongan, the Author’s fiancé is an acquaintance of hers 18 years back, they knew each other since 2003 but separated in 2006. They have not seen each other from 2006-2021 however, when they reconnected in May 2, 2021, theirs was a whirlwind romance which had in it the virtual proposal and a plan to get married. The author happily documented her heart from May 2, 2021 and has written several poems on the spot or the dates provided that these poems were written during their courtship. The book is a raw, honest, intimate and complete testament of how two lovers documented a courtship and how the courtship progressed.

It may have been the greatest injustice of all. A nation was uprooted. A nation was ripped apart from its ancestral lands with its peoples' feet pointed west. So many died along the way. The Five Civilized Tribes - the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole - rose to power on the land of their fathers, atop great smoky mountains, deep within vast timbered forests, lost among the mangroves, palmettos, and rivers of grass. They were strong and proud - hunters who had become farmers. Many fine plantations were firmly planted on the land they called home, and slaves picked their cotton in the fields. They had achieved self-government and prospered. But civilization rolled selfishly into their nation. Treaties were passed, signed, and ignored. Promises were made and broken, sometimes just forgotten. The removal of the tribes from their homeland in the Southeast to Indian Territory takes on a new dimension as author Caleb Pirtle relates to a culture that existed before the Europeans set foot on American soil. The people suffered greatly from this exodus - driven like cattle herds across frozen ground and icy rivers, families separated, children and the old ones dying - as they struggled down a path that would forever be known as "The Trail Where They Cried." They were victimized by America's "Indian Policy." It was a grave mistake. Trail of Broken Promises was written for the casual historian searching for an emotional overview of a dark era in America's past. Developed for the traveler, the book contains numerous photographs depicting the heritage and culture of the Five Civilized Tribes, as well as historical traces - homes, council houses, prisons, and forts - of their early days in Oklahoma.

"Witty, wise, and full of heart, Gail Storey’s winning memoir of her hike on the Pacific Crest Trail at the age of fifty-six is a book for every one who ever dreamed of taking the road less traveled. I Promise Not to Suffer is as inspiring as it is hilarious, as poignant as it is smart. It’s one of those oh-please-don’t-let-it-end books. I’d carry it in my backpack anywhere.”—Cheryl Strayed, author of Wild CLICK HERE to download the first 50 pages from I Promise Not To Suffer (Provide us with a little information and we'll send your download directly to your inbox) With comfortable urban lives in Houston, Texas, and career and life goals mostly accomplished, Gail D. Storey and her husband were in their fifties when they decided it was time to test themselves on a new path—a 2,663-mile path known as the Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches from Mexico to Canada. I Promise Not to Suffer is Gail's light-hearted yet heart-felt memoir about her and her husband's adventures and misadventures, deepening marriage, and reflections on being irrevocably changed by life on the trail. She was a novice hiker, while he was an experienced outdoorsman. Removed from their usual routines and living outside in the wilderness for months exposed hidden intricacies in their relationship. Hiking 20 miles a day over mountains, thirsting in the high desert of California, forcing frozen feet into icy socks and boots each morning in the High Sierra, stumbling through lava fields in Oregon—Gail was required to meet the elements on their own tough-love terms. From an encounter with a mountain lion to her mother's battle with cancer at home, she confronts each challenge with wit and brave style. While a dangerous loss of weight forces Gail to leave the PCT after 900 miles, she regains strength and later rejoins her husband on sections until he triumphantly reaches the northern terminus in Canada. Humorous yet honest, this journey of harrowing hilarity and reluctant revelations will be loved by active hikers (appendices include details of their unique ultralight gear and other essential how-to information), fans of female adventure stories, and armchair travelers alike. Praise for I Promise Not To Suffer: “At times wrenching memoir, at times hilarious, I Promise Not to Suffer pulls no punches and has a wicked sense of fun. Storey reminds me again of what is possible with a big imagination, a dose of scrappy courage, and a lot of love.” --Peter Heller, author of The Dog Stars and Kook “Some have called Gail Storey the Nora Ephron of the wilderness. With her own unique wit, Storey shares Ephron’s commitment to creating and tending a long, nourishing marriage. I Promise Not to Suffer is a portrait of a union that does not fray or break under pressure but is forged, toughened, and tenderized.” --Sara Davidson, author of Leap!, Loose Change, and The December Project “Of the many books that I have read about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, none have captured the trail experience from so many different perspectives.Single hikers, couples, and those who stay behind will all enjoy Gail Storey’s account of the challenges, the beauty, and the PCT community found along the way.” --Liz Bergeron, Executive Director and CEO, Pacific Crest Trail Association Winner of the Nautilus Awards 2014 "Better Books for a Better World" Silver Award! This volume provides the current understanding of death receptor's/TLR3 signaling regulation in cancer. Death receptors, including TRAIL-R1, TRAIL-R2, Fas and TNF-RI, owing to their ability to trigger apoptosis and to contribute to the elimination of cancer cells by the immune system have been considered, to variable extent, as important therapeutic targets for cancer therapy. But an increasing body of evidence suggests that some of these receptors may also contribute to tumorigenesis, or that new players such as TLR3 may be targeted for cancer therapy due to their ability to behave like death receptors.
