Irreversible Electroporation written by Boris Rubinsky and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-11-25 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Non-thermal irreversible electroporation is a new minimally invasive surgical p- cedure with unique molecular selectivity attributes – in fact it may be considered the first clinical molecular surgery procedure. Non-thermal irreversible electro- ration is a molecular selective mode of cell ablation that employs brief electrical fields to produce nanoscale defects in the cell membrane, which can lead to cell death, without an effect on any of the other tissue molecules. The electrical fields can be produced through contact by insertion of electrode needles around the undesirable tissue and non-invasively by electromagnetic induction. This new - dition to the medical armamentarium requires the active involvement and is of interest to clinical physicians, medical researchers, mechanical engineers, che- cal engineers, electrical engineers, instrumentation designers, medical companies and many other fields and disciplines that were never exposed in their training to irreversible electroporation or to a similar concept. This edited book is designed to be a comprehensive introduction to the field of irreversible electroporation to those that were not exposed or trained in the field before and can also serve as a reference manual. Irreversible electroporation is broad and interdisciplinary. Therefore, we have made an attempt to cover every one of the various aspects of the field from an introductory basic level to state of the art.

Advancing The Science Of Implementation Across The Cancer Continuum written by David A. Chambers (DPhil) and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018 with Medical categories.
While many effective interventions have been developed with the potential to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality from cancer, they are of no benefit to the health of populations if they cannot be delivered. In response to this challenge, Advancing the Science of Implementation across the Cancer Continuum provides an overview of research that can improve the delivery of evidence-based interventions in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship. Chapters explore the field of implementation science and its application to practice, a broad synthesis of relevant research and case studies illustrating each cancer-focused topic area, and emerging issues at the intersection of research and practice in cancer. Both comprehensive and accessible, this book is an ideal resource for researchers, clinical and public health practitioners, medical and public health students, and health policymakers.

Genome Chaos written by Henry H. Heng and has been published by Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-15 with Science categories.
Genome Chaos: Rethinking Genetics, Evolution, and Molecular Medicine, Second Edition transports readers from Mendelian genetics to 4D genomics, building a case for genes and genomes as distinct biological entities, and positing that the genome, rather than individual genes, defines system inheritance and represents a clear unit of selection for macroevolution. In authoring this thought-provoking text, Dr. Henry Heng invigorates fresh discussions in Genome Architecture Theory and helps readers reevaluate their current understanding of human genetics, evolution, and new pathways for advancing molecular and precision medicine. In this fully updated, new edition Dr. Heng fully embraces the integration of system information with genome-mediated evolutionary mechanisms, and supports this framework with recent findings and growing, interdisciplinary research supporting Genome Architecture Theory. Ten evidence-based chapters discuss 4D genomics, genes, and genomes as distinct biological entities, genome chaos and macrocellular evolution, karyotype coding and fuzzy inheritance, as well as an entirely novel information flow-driven model of evolution, and more. All new chapters consider the creation and maintenance of system information for complexity and biodiversity, as well as modes of analyzing information-based and historically contingent evolutionary theory. This synthesis offers an updated evolutionary theory, unifying physical, chemical, and biological mechanisms within organismal systems, and details the evolution of information packages where information flow, matter arrangement, and energy interact.
