Complex Analysis And Dynamics In One Variable With Applications written by Luis T. Magalhães and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-26 with Mathematics categories.

This textbook has been designed to support the initial study of Complex Analysis, progressing to Complex Dynamics. It focuses on the fundamental aspects of one-variable complex functions, covering the geometric theory and dynamics of iterations of rational mappings. Following the standard material, the book delves into an extensive range of advanced topics, encompassing the requirements for a one-year graduate-level course or a preliminary exam. In this work, the reader will discover three distinctive characteristics: it simplifies and unifies ideas and concepts that might appear disparate or complicated in real analysis; it contributes to the development of other areas in mathematics; and it showcases relevance for applications in Science and Engineering, with many exercises. Historical notes throughout the text help to contextualize the theory. With its flexible structure, this textbook provides a solid foundation for a first course in Complex Analysis and for a second more advanced course, establishing a robust basis for subsequent studies.

To attempt to compile a relatively complete bibliography of the theory of functions of a real variable with the requisite bibliographical data, to enumer ate the names of the mathematicians who have studied this subject, exhibit their fundamental results, and also include the most essential biographical data about them, to conduct an inventory of the concepts and methods that have been and continue to be applied in the theory of functions of a real variable ... in short, to carry out anyone of these projects with appropriate completeness would require a separate book involving a corresponding amount of work. For that reason the word essays occurs in the title of the present work, allowing some freedom in the selection of material. In justification of this selection, it is reasonable to try to characterize to some degree the subject to whose history these essays are devoted. The truth of the matter is that this is a hopeless enterprise if one requires such a characterization to be exhaustively complete and concise. No living subject can be given a final definition without provoking some objections, usually serious ones. But if we make no such claims, a characterization is possible; and if the first essay of the present book appears unconvincing to anyone, the reason is the personal fault of the author, and not the objective necessity of the attempt.

Holomorphic Functions And Integral Representations In Several Complex Variables written by R. Michael Range and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-09 with Mathematics categories.

The subject of this book is Complex Analysis in Several Variables. This text begins at an elementary level with standard local results, followed by a thorough discussion of the various fundamental concepts of "complex convexity" related to the remarkable extension properties of holomorphic functions in more than one variable. It then continues with a comprehensive introduction to integral representations, and concludes with complete proofs of substantial global results on domains of holomorphy and on strictly pseudoconvex domains inC", including, for example, C. Fefferman's famous Mapping Theorem. The most important new feature of this book is the systematic inclusion of many of the developments of the last 20 years which centered around integral representations and estimates for the Cauchy-Riemann equations. In particu lar, integral representations are the principal tool used to develop the global theory, in contrast to many earlier books on the subject which involved methods from commutative algebra and sheaf theory, and/or partial differ ential equations. I believe that this approach offers several advantages: (1) it uses the several variable version of tools familiar to the analyst in one complex variable, and therefore helps to bridge the often perceived gap between com plex analysis in one and in several variables; (2) it leads quite directly to deep global results without introducing a lot of new machinery; and (3) concrete integral representations lend themselves to estimations, therefore opening the door to applications not accessible by the earlier methods.

This major two-volume handbook is an extensively revised, updated second edition of the highly praised Survey of Applicable Mathematics, first published in English in 1969. The thirty-seven chapters cover all the important mathematical fields of use in applications: algebra, geometry, differential and integral calculus, infinite series, orthogonal systems of functions, Fourier series, special functions, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, integral equations, functions of one and several complex variables, conformal mapping, integral transforms, functional analysis, numerical methods in algebra and in algebra and in differential boundary value problems, probability, statistics, stochastic processes, calculus of variations, and linear programming. All proofs have been omitted. However, theorems are carefully formulated, and where considered useful, are commented with explanatory remarks. Many practical examples are given by way of illustration. Each of the two volumes contains an extensive bibliography and a comprehensive index. Together these two volumes represent a survey library of mathematics which is applicable in many fields of science, engineering, economics, etc. For researchers, students and teachers of mathematics and its applications.
