Competence orientation has become a defining element of vocational education in German-speaking countries. In this context, tasks are considered the "transmission belts" to implement the reformed educational standards. In her dissertation the author takes a view on the systematic analysis of task characteristics as a method to inspect the degree of tasks' cognitive requirements. The theoretical-conceptual part of the dissertation gives a psychological and didactical justification of the principles underlying the tasks' cognitive requirement. The effects are analysed in two empirical studies. The first study takes a look on the basis of accounting tasks from Chinese vocational school textbooks, using the structuring content analysis (Mayring, 2008). The second empirical study inspects accounting teachers' perceptions and judgments by interviews. Based on the results, the author develops suggestions for the use of the concept of tasks' cognitive requirement in the didactic training of (prospective) teachers at commercial schools.

Inhaltsangabe:Gang der Untersuchung: Die Arbeit ist in drei Teile gegliedert. Darstellung des wirtschaftsinstrumentellen Ansatzes und Begründung seiner Verwendung als theoretische Basis. The workplace is changing drastically these days. As a consequence of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution, new economic activities emerge, the production process changes, people use different communication tools, and organizational structures are adjusted. All these changes relate to the heart of business and economics, and there is no doubt that they will also influence education in these areas. Of course ICT provides new technologies to facilitate learning, but a changing workplace also requires a renewed focus within the curriculum of economics and business education. If ICT is leading to profound change in the workplace, is innovation then only a matter of introducing more technology in education? Unfortunately, this is not necessarily true. The translation of changes in the workplace into an improved curriculum requires serious analysis of the essence of the changes at the work place, and the way technology may enable student learning. For example, relevant knowledge is changing faster and faster. Does this mean that we have to adopt the curriculum faster and faster? Perhaps not, as students will have a labor market career of 30 or 40 years. Focusing on today’s knowledge – even if it is very up-to-date – loses more and more value if the life cycle of knowledge becomes shorter. Increased speed of change also implies a decrease in the value of knowing all these things.

Das vorliegende Buch beschäftigt sich mit den Charakteristika von Aufgaben in der Domäne Rechnungswesen aus einer fachdidaktischen Perspektive. Dazu wurde der aktuelle fachdidaktische Diskussionsstand aus der Fachdidaktik Rechnungswesen aufgearbeitet und auf Basis dessen ein umfassendes Kategoriensystem zur Analyse und Bewertung von Aufgaben aus dem Rechnungswesen entwickelt. Das Kategoriensystem kann des Weiteren genutzt werden, um neue Aufgaben für das Rechnungswesen zu entwickeln und bestehende Aufgaben zu optimieren. Darüber hinaus wurden 2.000 Rechnungswesenaufgaben aus 15 verschiedenen Schulbüchern von drei österreichischen Verlagen mithilfe des Kategoriensystems analysiert und bewertet. Damit kann der Wissensstand zu den Charakteristika von Aufgaben in der Domäne Rechnungswesen erheblich erweitert werden. Die Ergebnisse der umfassenden Auswertungen zeigen, dass bei den Aufgaben Verbesserungspotenzial besteht und die im Rahmen des Kategoriensystems formulierten Ansprüche an Aufgaben im Rechnungswesen derzeit nicht umfassend erfüllt werden. Darüber hinaus wird festgestellt, dass im derzeitigen Rechnungswesenunterricht sowohl eine Änderung der Aufgabenkultur als auch curriculare Änderungen und Weiterentwicklungen notwendig sind.
