Nsovo Manganyi is hoping to guide people who are struggling with identity crisis, who do not know who they are and their value, to redefine themselves. By reading this book it will no longer be her redefining herself but them redefining themselves.

This ground-breaking resource challenges and equips Christians to think and act biblically and compassionately in matters of sexuality. Sexual abuse, sex addiction, gender confusion, brokenness, and shame plague today's world, and people are seeking clarity and hope. By contesting long-held cultural paradigms, this book equips you to see how sexuality is rooted in the broader context of God's heart and His work for us on earth. It provides a framework from which to understand the big picture of sexual challenges and wholeness, and helps you recognize that every sexual question is ultimately a spiritual one. It shifts the paradigm from combating sexual problems to confidently proclaiming and modeling the road to sacred sexuality. Instead of arguing with the world about what's right and wrong about sexual choices, this practical resource equips you to share the love and grace of Jesus as you encounter the pain of sexual brokenness--your own or someone else's.

It's time for a REDEFINITION among black women in America. In its 2011 hardcover release, Black Woman Redefined was a top-selling book and took home a 2011 Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year Award from the African American Literary Awards. Author Sophia A. Nelson won the 2012 Champions of Diversity Award, given each year by diversity business executives in Fortune 100 companies. Black Woman Redefined was inspired in part by what Nelson calls “open season on accomplished black women": from Don Imus's name-calling of black female basketball players in 2007 and a 2009 Yale University study titled “Marriage Eludes High-Achieving Black Women," to the more recent revelation that First Lady Michelle Obama is concerned about being painted as an “angry, black woman." In Black Woman Redefined, Nelson sets out to change this cultural perception, taking readers on a no-holds-barred journey into the hearts and minds of accomplished black women to reveal truths, tribulations, and insights like never before. This groundbreaking book provides black women of a new generation with essential career and life-coaching advice. Based on never-before-done research on college-educated, career-driven black women, Nelson offers her fellow “sisters"—and those who know, love, and work with them—a feel-good volume for personal and professional success that empowers them without tearing others down.

Reinventing Yourself After 40 Norma S Victorious Journey written by Norma Boucher and has been published by Page Publishing Inc this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-01-05 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

In this inspiring autobiography and advice book, Jamaican-born Norma Boucher tells the story of how she went from being a young, single mother with no high school diploma to a top-ranked tennis player with a college degree – all in middle age. Boucher grew up in a family of six children to a loving, gentle mother and a strict father. Though her father pressed all of his children to take their education seriously, the harsh punishments he used to motivate her had the opposite effect on young Norma. As a teenager, Boucher immigrated to England to study nursing and soon became pregnant. When she moved to the United States, her life seemed destined to taking care of her daughter and working menial jobs – until one day, at age 38, she became inspired to take up tennis. From then on, instead of ignoring her dreams, Boucher worked toward them. She achieved one athletic accomplishment after another, going on to earn her college degree at Alfred University and leading her college tennis team to its first undefeated season as a 50-year-old grandmother. Along the way, Boucher earned accolades from the prestigious Giant Steps Award for athletes who have overcome great odds to features in Sports Illustrated and documentaries. But, in Boucher’s eyes, her greatest achievement was learning to listen to her heart’s desires. No matter what age you are, Boucher’s story will push you to take control of your destiny and rise to heights you never thought possible.

Psychosocial Pathways Towards Reinventing The South African University written by Sabrina Liccardo and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-11-02 with Psychology categories.

This book proposes a conceptual-empirical framework for exploring forms of continuity and change along psychosocial pathways in South African universities. It illustrates how the psychosocial pathways are grounded in the symbolic narratives and knowledges of young scientists, engineers and architects - all interlocutors in the research from which this book is based. Alala, Mamoratwa, Welile, Odirile, Kaiya, Amirah, Takalani, Nosakhele, Naila, Ambani, Khanyisile, Itumeleng, Ethwasa and Kgnaya provide collective standpoints in the multiplicities within and between the lived lives and told stories of young Black South African women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. In doing so, this compelling work advances possibilities for demythologising scientific endeavour as a white male achievement and shifting knowledge communities across gendered, racialised, class and national divides. This book presents an innovative narrative methodology, utilising the myth of the Minotaur to examine the state of the university at the heart of the hierarchical labyrinth in “post”-apartheid South Africa. Throughout the work the author wrestles with and self-reflexively highlights her own positionality as a white, middle-class South African woman to examine how this affects the production of this research in ways which serve to preserve the colonial knowledge system. With the rise of the Rhodes Must Fall and Fees Must Fall student movement in South Africa, demanding for the fall of institutionalised racial hierarchies, the author uses the cover image of narrative formations in the spirit of exploration to think with and through undulating networked forms that could possibly forge new psychosocial pathways towards decolonising and reinventing South African universities. This work offers a unique conceptual and methodological resource for students and scholars of psychosocial and narrative theory, as well as those who are concerned about the politics of higher education, both in South Africa and in other contexts around the world.
