This book is the First Edition of 'Remembering the Dookie Fallen ~ 100 Years On'. It honours the sixteen men on Dookie's War Memorial who paid the ultimate sacrifice during World War One. The initial researcher, Helen Rankin, co-opted the assistance of local Dookie lady, Dianne Feldtmann, to find these sixteen men and to record all the men's faces and life stories for this book. It took two years to gather all the information. A researcher from England, Ralph Surry, assisted with finding three men who were from England and had been working in Australia at the time of enlistment. The first edition of this book was launched on Australia Day 2018 at Dookie. At that stage, after publication, there were still two faces from England to find. This book is a historical record for the families of the men and the people of Dookie, for posterity and for the education of younger generations. We will remember them.
