La Società Napoletana di Storia Patria fu creata nel 1875 per volontà di alcuni politici e studiosi napoletani, mutuando la sua struttura dalle società storiche già sorte. Come gli altri istituti italiani, anche il sodalizio napoletano ebbe come primari interessi l’edizione di fonti, la difesa della propria autonomia, il tentativo di conciliare piccola e grande patria. Lo scopo era duplice: rafforzare il legame tra la popolazione e la dinastia sabauda ed evidenziare, tramite le memorie locali, il contributo dato al processo di nation building. Attraverso la ricostruzione biografica di alcuni membri della società storica napoletana, si comprende bene che nulla di ciò che accadeva in città era lontano dall’istituto: dal controllo dell’istruzione pubblica alla tutela dei monumenti, all’amministrazione degli enti di beneficenza. Pur essendoci già prestigiosi cenacoli culturali, la società storica seppe creare infatti un’ampia rete di rapporti, grazie anche al numero aperto delle iscrizioni e a una quota associativa tutto sommato accessibile. Le vicende di questo istituto, qui ricostruite dall’anno di fondazione al 1946 attraverso fonti documentarie inedite e una ricca bibliografia, si rivelano pertanto utili per chi voglia conoscere da vicino le dinamiche culturali del Mezzogiorno continentale all’indomani dell’Unità.

In the first pages of the Zibaldone, Leopardi had noted that the "love of learning" induces a passion for philosophy, making it a foundational element of modern culture. In this perspective, then, no doubt remains as to the prominent position of Voltaire's Candide, or of Rousseau's thought, which combines philosophical thinking, educational demands, political passion and autobiography. However, in order to move from the count to the novel, from the apologue and from the treatises to complex characters who also maintain a strong and speculative allure, one had to leave the 18th century, experience Romanticism, feed the rêveries of the new promeneurs solitaires during the following century, with the restlessness and the questions of Dostoevsky, Kafka, Sartre, Camus, and of Pirandello, Proust, Musil and many others; of those who combined the passion for short stories with the unmasking of any deceptive theodicy. Bringing the the novel back to bourgeois intertwining and existential anxieties, starting from Cervantes's ironic way of thinking. In the absence of declarations, however, where does one find the evidence of the presence of the philosophique in the novel, or how does one identify texts pertaining to the definition of roman philosophique? This book, conceived and edited by Anna Dolfi, does not only raises the problem, but tries to solve it as well. At the same time, it brings the ideas of the novel and from the novel together with constructive theories, and compares the insignificant with significance, mythical emblems and codes, semiosis and destiny, while also observing how language, in the parade of the authors, changes itself and even touches the figurativeness of the graphic-novel. This volume constitutes the final point of arrival of a path which, in samples, locks significant fragments in the otherwise infinite kaleidoscope of narration.

Il volume inaugura la collana Quaderni d’Itinerari riproponendo una silloge di studi su Heidegger apparsa per la prima volta nel 1986, a cura di Giampiero Moretti, come numero monografico della rivista “Itinerari”. I nomi degli autori (Gadamer, Pöggeler, Biemel, Guzzoni, Sallis, Scaravelli, Sini, Mazzarella, Ruggenini, Volpi, Amoroso, Rigobello, Penzo, Nicoletti, Ronchi, nonché Zanzotto, Bigongiari, Manzi, Albinati) testimoniano già di per sé del valore e della non comune ricchezza della raccolta, tanto in rapporto agli studi specialistici su Heidegger, quanto per un bilancio circa il ruolo che il suo pensiero ha esercitato negli ultimi quarant’anni. Tuttavia, le ragioni che hanno indotto il Curatore, in collaborazione con Adriano Ardovino, a riproporre queste riflessioni – alcune delle quali ancora attualissime e confermate dalla progressiva pubblicazione dell’opera completa di Heidegger – sono legate anche allo stile e all’impostazione della raccolta, che richiama il rapporto cruciale, in Heidegger, tra pensiero e poesia: un tema di cui oggi, in un mondo governato dalla tecnica, è più che mai necessario riscoprire la centralità.
