L’impegno educativo nell’ambito del disagio, della marginalità, della devianza, richiede un’identità teorica forte che in qualche modo faccia da bussola per aiutare l’educatore a navigare le «agitate acque» dell’emergenza sociale. Un’intenzionalità pedagogica che deve esprimersi in un movimento continuo di andata e ritorno tra teoria e prassi, affinché quest’ultima non cada nell’improvvisazione, nell’estemporaneo, nel casuale, o in una forma più o meno esplicita di buon senso, e la riflessione teorica non divenga fine a se stessa, perdendosi nell’astrazione. Il Metodo Integra nasce da un’attività di continua autoriflessione e condivisione di pratiche educative, dal dialogo costante tra teoria e prassi, a valle di anni di lavoro in contesti di particolare difficoltà. Una difficoltà legata alla carenza del tessuto sociale che rende una storia difficile enormemente più difficile, proprio perché il contesto non sostiene la difficoltà: il bambino con difficoltà spesso vive in una famiglia difficile, in un quartiere difficile, in una città difficile, in una Regione difficile. Educare in queste situazioni significa riuscire ad incarnare le teorie e orientare le pratiche nel confronto con questo quotidiano, con questi bambini e ragazzi, non smettendo mai di immaginare con loro e per loro un altrimenti e un altrove.

Cosa può mettersi tra questo destino e la possibilità di un progetto autonomo di vita? Come riportare questi ragazzi dal margine delle loro responsabilità e delle loro scelte al centro della propria esistenza? Su quali e quanti fronti si gioca questa sfida? Convinzione di chi scrive è che si tratti di una sfida complessa, che richiede un costante lavoro educativo che abbia le caratteristiche della multidimensionalità e della policontestualità, esprimendosi in più dimensioni (culturale, educativa, psicologica, sociale) e in più contesti (scuola, famiglia, lavoro, gruppo dei pari). Accoglierla significa pensare di lavorare su se stessi e sulla propria visione del mondo, prima ancora che sull’altro; significa saper essere in dialogo con le proprie emozioni, per gestirle consapevolmente; significa continuare a credere e sperare nel cambiamento, anche di fronte alle continue disconferme e criticità che il contesto pone.

While the Internet is a relatively new technology, that has impacted the world, and provided many benefits, it has also had negative ramifications. Individuals unable to control their use are jeopardizing school, employment and relationships. The concept of “Internet Addiction” is used to explain uncontrollable, damaging use of technology. It is characterized as an impulse control disorder, comparable to pathological gambling, because of overlapping diagnostic criteria and symptomatology. Based on these studies, the IAT was constructed to capture the problematic behavior associated with compulsive use of technology, including online porn, internet gambling and compulsive use of online games and social media. The Internet Addiction Test emerged as the first validated measure of Internet and technology addiction. The assessments can be administered in a variety of mental health settings, including private practice clinics, schools, hospitals and residential programs. They can be used when there is suspicion of Internet addiction, as part of a broad intake assessment, or for use in a wellness curriculum to help participants evaluate their own Internet behavior. The IAT can also be a valuable pre-employment screening device, to detect internet addiction among job candidates, to improve productivity and reduce corporate liability. Based on 20 self-report items, the IAT assesses for the presence of addiction to the Internet, electronic entertainment, social media, and general use of electronic devices, and also measures the severity of addiction, in terms of mild, moderate or severe. Furthermore, because Internet addiction may be driven by different reasons and manifest in different ways, requiring different types of treatment, the IAT produces scores related to the following areas: EscapeCompulsionNeglecting dutiesAnticipationLack of ControlSocial Avoidance
