De ironie wil dat ik in eerste instantie een slechte beurt heb gemaakt bij het vertellen van het verhaal over dit boek. Door het originele omslag leek het boek te gaan over liegen en leek het te impliceren dat mijn lezers (marketeers) slechte mensen zouden zijn. Degenen die de moeite namen om het boek te lezen konden zien dat dit niet waar was, maar tegen de tijd dat ze het boek open hadden geslagen, was het al te laat. Een verhaal was al verteld. Ik had gefaald. Je krijgt bij uitgeven niet vaak een tweede kans, en ik ben dan ook heel blij dat mijn uitgever een nieuw omslag wilde proberen, en dubbel zo blij dat het werkt. Je leest dit immers. Dus, ga een verhaal vertellen. En als het geen weerklank vindt, vertel een ander. Wanneer je een verhaal vindt dat werkt, leef dat verhaal dan, maak het echt, authentiek en leg het onder de loep. Alle marketeers zijn verhalenvertellers en alleen de verliezers zijn leugenaars.
