Sampled-data Models for Linear and Nonlinear Systems provides a fresh new look at a subject with which many researchers may think themselves familiar. Rather than emphasising the differences between sampled-data and continuous-time systems, the authors proceed from the premise that, with modern sampling rates being as high as they are, it is becoming more appropriate to emphasise connections and similarities. The text is driven by three motives: · the ubiquity of computers in modern control and signal-processing equipment means that sampling of systems that really evolve continuously is unavoidable; · although superficially straightforward, sampling can easily produce erroneous results when not treated properly; and · the need for a thorough understanding of many aspects of sampling among researchers and engineers dealing with applications to which they are central. The authors tackle many misconceptions which, although appearing reasonable at first sight, are in fact either partially or completely erroneous. They also deal with linear and nonlinear, deterministic and stochastic cases. The impact of the ideas presented on several standard problems in signals and systems is illustrated using a number of applications. Academic researchers and graduate students in systems, control and signal processing will find the ideas presented in Sampled-data Models for Linear and Nonlinear Systems to be a useful manual for dealing with sampled-data systems, clearing away mistaken ideas and bringing the subject thoroughly up to date. Researchers in statistics and economics will also derive benefit from the reworking of ideas relating a model derived from data sampling to an original continuous system.

Systems And Control An Introduction To Linear Sampled And Nonlinear Systems written by Terry Dougherty and has been published by World Scientific Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-09-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The primary function of this book is to serve as a textbook on linear systems and control. It is aimed principally at undergraduates taking courses in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering who are in the penultimate and final years of an Honours degree. Because the text is closely integrated with the use of a widely available software package, it will also be of interest and use to a more expert audience with a control background, but who may not be familiar with these invaluable tools. Finally, it may be of use to others who may not be control specialists, but who need to acquire a background of control for other purposes. Some of the material has been used successfully for such a purpose with an M.Sc programme for Power Engineering students.

Nonlinear Control Systems Design 1989 written by A. Isidori and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In the last two decades, the development of specific methodologies for the control of systems described by nonlinear mathematical models has attracted an ever increasing interest. New breakthroughs have occurred which have aided the design of nonlinear control systems. However there are still limitations which must be understood, some of which were addressed at the IFAC Symposium in Capri. The emphasis was on the methodological developments, although a number of the papers were concerned with the presentation of applications of nonlinear design philosophies to actual control problems in chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering.

Inversion Method In The Discrete Time Nonlinear Control Systems Synthesis Problems written by Ülle Kotta and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-01-21 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The purpose of this book is twofold: To survey control system design methods based on the system inversion technique and to collect into one place the many recent results in the field. It has been known for some time that inverse systems may be used to solve numerous control problems. Despite the importance and conceptual simplicity of this topic there appears to be no monograph written on it. The purpose of this work is therefore to present and apply a systematic design method which bases itself on the fundamental system property of invertibility. Many different theoretical and practical aspects are considered in this volume working from elementary topics in the first section to current research in the second.

Polynomial Fuzzy Model Based Control Systems written by Hak-Keung Lam and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book presents recent research on the stability analysis of polynomial-fuzzy-model-based control systems where the concept of partially/imperfectly matched premises and membership-function dependent analysis are considered. The membership-function-dependent analysis offers a new research direction for fuzzy-model-based control systems by taking into account the characteristic and information of the membership functions in the stability analysis. The book presents on a research level the most recent and advanced research results, promotes the research of polynomial-fuzzy-model-based control systems, and provides theoretical support and point a research direction to postgraduate students and fellow researchers. Each chapter provides numerical examples to verify the analysis results, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed polynomial fuzzy control schemes, and explain the design procedure. The book is comprehensively written enclosing detailed derivation steps and mathematical derivations also for readers without extensive knowledge on the topics including students with control background who are interested in polynomial fuzzy model-based control systems.

Nonlinear System Identification written by Stephen A. Billings and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-07-29 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Nonlinear System Identification: NARMAX Methods in the Time, Frequency, and Spatio-Temporal Domains describes a comprehensive framework for the identification and analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems in the time, frequency, and spatio-temporal domains. This book is written with an emphasis on making the algorithms accessible so that they can be applied and used in practice. Includes coverage of: The NARMAX (nonlinear autoregressive moving average with exogenous inputs) model The orthogonal least squares algorithm that allows models to be built term by term where the error reduction ratio reveals the percentage contribution of each model term Statistical and qualitative model validation methods that can be applied to any model class Generalised frequency response functions which provide significant insight into nonlinear behaviours A completely new class of filters that can move, split, spread, and focus energy The response spectrum map and the study of sub harmonic and severely nonlinear systems Algorithms that can track rapid time variation in both linear and nonlinear systems The important class of spatio-temporal systems that evolve over both space and time Many case study examples from modelling space weather, through identification of a model of the visual processing system of fruit flies, to tracking causality in EEG data are all included to demonstrate how easily the methods can be applied in practice and to show the insight that the algorithms reveal even for complex systems NARMAX algorithms provide a fundamentally different approach to nonlinear system identification and signal processing for nonlinear systems. NARMAX methods provide models that are transparent, which can easily be analysed, and which can be used to solve real problems. This book is intended for graduates, postgraduates and researchers in the sciences and engineering, and also for users from other fields who have collected data and who wish to identify models to help to understand the dynamics of their systems.
