Mit Hilfe von Sprache können wir Kontakt aufnehmen und unsere Gefühle, Gedanken und Wünsche mitzuteilen. Auch der schulische und berufliche Erfolg ist ohne Sprachkompetenz nicht denkbar. Selbst ein Top-Manager kann nur dann erfolgreich sein, wenn er seine Ideen und Projektvorschläge überzeugend darstellen kann. Und ein Schüler kann Textaufgaben in Mathematik nur dann richtig lösen, wenn er auch die Aufgabenstellung verstanden hat. Der Wohlstand einer Volkswirtschaft ist abhängig von der Anzahl gut ausgebildeter Menschen. In Deutschland ist eine Mehrsprachigkeit seit geraumer Zeit keine Ausnahme mehr bzw. heutzutage ein Regel. Die Kinder aus zugewanderten Familien gehen gemeinsam mit den deutschen Kindern in die Schule, wo sie auch gemeinsam Lesen und Schreiben lernen. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird versucht, die Schwierigkeiten der zweisprachigen Kinder bzw. Jugendlichen im Bereich der deutschen Schriftsprache darzustellen und anhand von Beispielen die mögliche Auswirkung auf diese zu zeigen. Es wird auf die russische Sprache Bezug genommen und aufgezeigt, dass viele Schwierigkeiten beim Erwerb der Schriftsprache nicht nur an der Kompliziertheit des Sprachsystems der zweiten Sprache z.B. Deutsch liegen können, sondern auch an der Übertragung des grammatikalischen und graphematischen Systems der Muttersprache auf die zweite Sprache. Wer gilt als zweisprachig? Dies muss zunächst beantwortet werden, bevor die Fragestellung näher untersucht wird. Auch reicht es nicht aus, eine Definition des Begriffs "Zweisprachigkeit" zu kennen. Damit lassen sich Schwierigkeiten beim Erwerb der Schriftsprache (der Zweisprache) bzw. damit verbundene typische Fehler nicht erklären. Weiterhin muss geklärt werden. Mit welchem Al

Written by Stephen Krashen, the nation's foremost expert on second language acquisition, it disproves many of the false assumptions and outright distortions that led to the passage of Proposition 227 in California. Now, as some of those same arguments proliferate in other states, Krashen explains the bases for five of these key beliefs, and proves-step-by-step-why they are wrong: Bilingual education is responsible for the high Hispanic dropout rate. In fact, studies show reduced and even no difference in dropout rates when background factors are controlled. Most immigrants succeeded without bilingual education.
