Singular Perturbations Of Differential Operators written by Sergio Albeverio and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-03-13 with Mathematics categories.
Differential (and more general self-adjoint) operators involving singular interactions arise naturally in a range of topics such as, classical and quantum physics, chemistry, and electronics. This book presents a systematic mathematical study of these operators, with particular emphasis on spectral and scattering problems. Suitable for researchers in analysis or mathematical physics, this book could also be used as a text for an advanced course on the applications of analysis.

The subject of this textbook is the mathematical theory of singular perturbations, which despite its respectable history is still in a state of vigorous development. Singular perturbations of cumulative and of boundary layer type are presented. Attention has been given to composite expansions of solutions of initial and boundary value problems for ordinary and partial differential equations, linear as well as quasilinear; also turning points are discussed. The main emphasis lies on several methods of approximation for solutions of singularly perturbed differential equations and on the mathematical justification of these methods. The latter implies a priori estimates of solutions of differential equations; this involves the application of Gronwall's lemma, maximum principles, energy integrals, fixed point theorems and Gåding's theorem for general elliptic equations. These features make the book of value to mathematicians and researchers in the engineering sciences, interested in the mathematical justification of formal approximations of solutions of practical perturbation problems. The text is selfcontained and each chapter is concluded with some exercises.

Singular Perturbations And Hysteresis written by Michael P. Mortell and has been published by SIAM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-01-01 with Mathematics categories.
This book brings together many important recent developments in the analysis of singular perturbation and hysteresis phenomena in an accessible and reasonably comprehensive fashion. To bridge a gap between practitioners of these phenomena, the editors conducted a workshop in April 2002 at University College Cork to provide a forum for experts in both fields to share their interests and knowledge. For this book, the editors have compiled research from those practitioners in areas such as reacting systems, semiconductor lasers, shock phenomena in economic modeling, and fluid mechanics, all with an emphasis on hysteresis and singular perturbations.

Introduction To The General Theory Of Singular Perturbations written by S. A. Lomov and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Mathematics categories.
This book is aimed at researchers and students in physics, mathematics, and engineering. It contains the first systematic presentation of a general approach to the integration of singularly perturbed differential equations describing nonuniform transitions, such as the occurrence of a boundary layer, discontinuities, boundary effects and so on. The method of regularization of singular perturbations presented here can be applied to the asymptotic integration of systems of ordinary and partial differential equations.

Spectral Theory Of Schrodinger Operators written by Rafael del Río and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Mathematics categories.
This volume gathers the articles based on a series of lectures from a workshop held at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the National University of Mexico. The aim of the book is to present to a non-specialized audience the basic tools needed to understand and appreciate new trends of research on Schrodinger operator theory. Topics discussed include various aspects of the spectral theory of differential operators, the theory of self-adjoint operators, finite rank perturbations, spectral properties of random Schrodinger operators, and scattering theory for Schrodinger operators. The material is suitable for graduate students and research mathematicians interested in differential operators, in particular, spectral theory of Schrodinger operators.

Fitted Numerical Methods For Singular Perturbation Problems written by John James Henry Miller and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Mathematics categories.
Since the first edition of this book, the literature on fitted mesh methods for singularly perturbed problems has expanded significantly. Over the intervening years, fitted meshes have been shown to be effective for an extensive set of singularly perturbed partial differential equations. In the revised version of this book, the reader will find an introduction to the basic theory associated with fitted numerical methods for singularly perturbed differential equations. Fitted mesh methods focus on the appropriate distribution of the mesh points for singularly perturbed problems. The global errors in the numerical approximations are measured in the pointwise maximum norm. The fitted mesh algorithm is particularly simple to implement in practice, but the theory of why these numerical methods work is far from simple. This book can be used as an introductory text to the theory underpinning fitted mesh methods.

The theory of linear Volterra integro-differential equations has been developing rapidly in the last three decades. This book provides an easy to read concise introduction to the theory of ill-posed abstract Volterra integro-differential equations. A major part of the research is devoted to the study of various types of abstract (multi-term) fracti
