In the western world, there has been a change in religion. Some researchers speak of a general secularization in the sense of a decline of religion in general. Other researchers claim that religion, represented by the dominant churches in particular, are losing importance. Still others are discovering that religious vitality is an inherent dimension of modernity. In dieser Arbeit wird ein Konzept zur Überarbeitung des Waldlehrpfades im Opel-Zoo Kronberg vorgestellt. Das Ziel war dabei, den vorhandenen Pfad durch eigene Stationsvorschläge zum Thema Wald zu ergänzen, sodass eine ganzheitliche Umweltbildung erfolgen kann. Zunächst werden verschiedene Einteilungen der Lehrpfade in Kategorien vorgenommen und die Geschichte der Entwicklung dieser dargelegt. Dabei geht die Arbeit auf die teilweise unterschiedlichen Meinungen der Fachbuchautoren ein. Im Anschluss werden die Funktionen von Lehrpfaden im allgemeinen außerschulischen Kontext beschrieben, bis schließlich im dritten Kapitel dazu übergegangen wird, die Lehrpfadpädagogik aus dem Blickwinkel der Didaktik zu schildern. Dabei befasst sich die vor liegende Arbeit unter anderem mit dem neuen Kerncurriculum, welches die Funktion der Lehrpläne in Hessen übernommen hat. Mit Blick auf die Lehrtätigkeit wird versucht, die Relevanz der Lehrpfadpädagogik mit dem Curriculum zu begründen. Dennoch werden auch die Lehrpläne mit einbezogen, da diese inoffiziell ihre Gültigkeit an den Schulen noch besitzen. Die Voraussetzungen für Umweltbildungsprozesse bei Jugendlichen werden beschrieben. Die heute so wichtige nachhaltige Entwicklung sowie die Biodiversität und das Verständnis für die Natur in der Bevölkerung werden beleuchtet und mit aktuellen Studien belegt. Das Kapitel vier befasst sich mit dem vorhandenen Lehrpfad im Opel-Zoo. Dabei werden die installierten 13 Stationen und ihre didaktische Relevanz beschrieben. Auch das didaktische Konzept sowie die Geschichte des Pfades werden erläutert. Im fünften Kapitel werden fünf eigene Stationsvorschläge vorgestellt. Dazu sind Bauzeichnungen, eine Broschüre sowie teilweise Präparate und Gestaltungsvorschläge im Anhang beigefügt. Beim Entwurf dieser fünf Stationen wurde darauf geachtet, welche wichtigen Themen des Artenschutzes sowie der Umweltbildung bisher nicht durch die vorhandenen Stationen abgedeckt wurden. Auch wurde darauf geachtet, dass ein Großteil der Vorschläge interaktive Elemente aufweist, damit vor allem Jugendliche und Kinder spielerisch die Natur entdecken können.

Der qualitativ-empirische Längsschnitt erkundet Wandlungen und Stabilitäten in den Einstellungen von Gymnasiast*innen zu Schöpfung, Urknall und Evolution. Katholische Schüler*innen gaben in Klasse 5, 7, 9 und 11 zum Ursprung der Welt und des Menschen Auskunft. Die erhobenen Bilder, Texte und Interviews wurden mit einer Variante der Grounded Theory analysiert. Auf Basis dieser Befunde gibt die Arbeit praxisrelevante Anregungen für ein pünktliches Lernen im Religionsunterricht der Sekundarstufe zur Schöpfungsthematik unter Berücksichtigung naturwissenschaftlicher Wissensdomänen.
