For the last few years there has been wave after wave of reform aimed at improving a lot of the schools struggling at the bottom of the ladder of performance, and despite what can be interpreted as best intentions, the problem persists. As a social problem it draws down significant sums of public money, it exercises many talented people, and yet, time after time we find that three, four, maybe five years down the road after extended efforts the impact of the work diffuses and the challenges remain, doggedly evident in people's daily lives. It suggests that perhaps something is wrong in our interpretation, in our analysis, in our approach and our consequent measure of effect of our activity with difficult schools. Improving Schools in Difficulty is structured around two parts, part one examines the principles of engagement with schools in difficulty and part two looks at ways of improving the process of supporting schools in difficulty.

This volume provides a multifaceted perspective on the current global crises, and its socioeconomic ramifications for individuals, businesses, organizations, governments, systems and developing countries. Featuring selected papers from the 2020 Annual Griffiths School of Management and IT Conference (GSMAC), held in Oradea, Romania, this volume focuses on business, technological and ethical considerations in the process of navigating through crisis. Working in the challenging context of inner city areas on accelerated school improvement does not allow time for reflection. Learning occurs experientially but it is not easily consolidated or refined. School improvement is currently opportunistic and expedient, but schools and authority are gradually edging towards a more durable theory of tackling underachievement and building success. This book offers the reader the opportunity to understand the process of school improvement better and establishes local models.

The Latin American Neutrosophic Science Association was created in 2018 as a result of the initiative of a group of university professors from Mexico and Ecuador. The Association has developed an intense work in the investigative context, expression of the capacity that neutrosophy has as a tool for understanding and transformation of reality in social benefit. Neutrosophic sets as a generalization fuzzy set (especially intuitionistic fuzzy sets), allows handling a greater number of situations that occur in reality and becomes a facilitator of the approach to the studied object without undermining its complex and multivariate essence. In this special edition, researchers from six Ecuadorian universities show the results of research projects addressing a wide range of topics related to the social environment of these Higher Education Institutions. The contents include law, criminology, public and administrative management, evaluation of pedagogical scenarios, prospective analysis, artificial intelligence, among other topics. They are many different texts with a common denominator, the social sciences, and their relationship with neutrosophy. The progress of these investigations originates a significant change in the ways of validating and reasoning the proposals, the appreciation of neutrality increases the interpretability and the inferential efficacy from the analysis of the results, which enunciates a methodological, perceptive and objective enrichment in the humanistic sciences in Latin American geographical region.

Network Governance In Education written by Yuan Tao and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-12-31 with Education categories.

This book explores and theorizes the complexity of network governance in school turnaround in China, drawing on an interpretive qualitative paradigm. School turnaround provides a useful perspective for understanding network governance in education, as it involves interactions among multiple parties of actors all aiming to improve school quality. Based on a case study of three school turnaround networks in Shanghai, this book analyzes the complexity of interactions among schools, local governments, and third-party actors. The study goes beyond a simple description of the plurality of state and non-state actors involved in education. It places particular emphasis on the power of network actors and the power dynamics among them that shape their interactions and positions in educational governance. The power perspective adopted in this book provides insight into which network actors matter in education governance and how network governance should be applied in education, particularly in school turnaround. The book will appeal to scholars and students of education and will be particularly useful to policymakers and practitioners interested in educational administration, management and leadership, educational improvement, and Chinese education.
