Introduction To The General Theory Of Singular Perturbations written by S. A. Lomov and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Mathematics categories.

This book is aimed at researchers and students in physics, mathematics, and engineering. It contains the first systematic presentation of a general approach to the integration of singularly perturbed differential equations describing nonuniform transitions, such as the occurrence of a boundary layer, discontinuities, boundary effects and so on. The method of regularization of singular perturbations presented here can be applied to the asymptotic integration of systems of ordinary and partial differential equations.

Analysis Of A Model For Epilepsy written by Candace M. Kent and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-06-07 with Mathematics categories.

In the 1960s and 1970s, mathematical biologists Sir Robert M. May, E.C. Pielou, and others utilized difference equations as models of ecological and epidemiological phenomena. Since then, with or without applications, the mathematics of difference equations has evolved into a field unto itself. Difference equations with the maximum (or the minimum or the "rank-type") function were rigorously investigated from the mid-1990s into the 2000s, without any applications in mind. These equations often involved arguments varying from reciprocal terms with parameters in the numerators to other special functions. Recently, the authors of Analysis of a Model for Epilepsy: Application of a Max-Type Difference Equation to Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and their colleagues investigated the first known application of a "max-type" difference equation. Their equation is a phenomenological model of epileptic seizures. In this book, the authors expand on that research and present a more comprehensive development of mathematical, numerical, and biological results. Additionally, they describe the first documented instance of a novel dynamical behavior that they call rippled almost periodic behavior, which can be described as an unpredictable pseudo-periodic behavior. Features: Suitable for researchers in mathematical neuroscience and potentially as supplementary reading for postgraduate students Thoroughly researched and replete with references

NATO Advanced Research Workshop “The Black Sea: Strategy for Addressing its Energy Resource Development and Hydrogen Energy Problems” was held in order to evaluate the Black Sea Region’s environment, discuss the ways and means of protecting it, and to evaluate the methods of production of the energy carrier, hydrogen. Papers presented at the workshop, proposed various methods of hydrogen production from the hydrogen sulfide, from marine macro algae and other bacteria, storage and utilization of hydrogen, oil spills and pollutants in the Black Sea, degradation of the sea and the land around the region, and ways and means of protecting the environment. The workshop participants unanimously expressed the need to establish close cooperation amongst the Region’s countries regarding the development of its energy resources, and at the same time protecting its environment. These recommendations have been put together in the Batumi Manifesto. This book entitled “Black Sea Energy Resource Development and Hydrogen Energy Problems” puts together the papers presented at the workshop, starting with the Batumi Manifesto. This valuable volume should be in the libraries of all the scientists, engineers, environmentalists, economists and decision makers involved in the development of the Black Sea Region and in the introduction of clean and abundant Hydrogen Energy.

Propagation Of Waves In Shear Flows written by A L Fabrikant and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-10-20 with Science categories.

The state of the art in a theory of oscillatory and wave phenomena in hydrodynamical flows is presented in this book. A unified approach is used for waves of different physical origins. A characteristic feature of this approach is that hydrodynamical phenomena are considered in terms of physics; that is, the complement of the conventionally employed formal mathematical approach. Some physical concepts such as wave energy and momentum in a moving fluid are analysed, taking into account induced mean flow. The physical mechanisms responsible for hydrodynamic instability of shear flows are considered within the concept of negative energy waves. The phenomenon of over-reflection is analysed. A number of well-known theorems of the hydrodynamic theory of stability are interpreted in terms of the interaction of the waves having different energy signs. Attention is drawn to the plasma-hydrodynamic analogy, which is a powerful tool for physical analyses of general mechanisms of wave amplification and absorption in flows. Various wave-flow interaction problems are considered, for instance, sound generation in whistlers, wave scattering and amplification by vortices, methods of wave remote sounding, and some nonlinear dynamical and chaotic phenomena. The book is intended for researchers specializing in wave theory, aeroacoustics, geophysical and astrophysical fluid dynamics, and related fields. It may also be useful to graduate and post-graduate students as a supplement to standard lecture courses. Contents:Wave Energy and Momentum in a Moving MediumWave Generation by Unstable Shear FlowsPiecewise-Linear Models of FlowsOver-ReflectionResonant Wave–Flow InteractionOscillatory Systems with Hydrodynamic FlowsWaves on Concentrated VorticesRemote Wave Sensing of Moving VorticesBibliography Readership: Nonlinear scientists, researchers in wave theory, fluid dynamics and related fields. keywords:Stratified Shear Flows;Hydrodynamic Instabilities;Wave Energy and Momentum;Negative Energy Waves;Wave-Current Interaction. Building Broadband Networks written by Marlyn Kemper Littman and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-06-03 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Optical networks, undersea networks, GSM, UMTS...The recent explosion in broadband communications technologies has opened a new world of fast, flexible services and applications. To successfully implement these services, however, requires a solid understanding of the concepts and capabilities of broadband technologies and networks. Building Broadband Networks provides a comprehensive, non-theoretical introduction to broadband networking. It clearly and thoroughly conveys the principles and the technical fundamentals of the high-performance technologies that enable the reliable delivery of media-rich voice, video, and data services. After a careful examination of ISDN and ATM technologies, it describes optical network solutions based on SONET/SDH, WDM, and DWDM technologies. It then explores Ethernet operations and services and introduces Frame Relay and Fibre Channel networks, DSL solutions, and wireline and wireless cable networks. The author reviews the capabilities of cellular technologies, describes the characteristics of wireless networking technologies, and examines broadband satellite networks. She also explores next-generation network configurations, such as Internet2 and GEANT, and concludes with a study of network security problems and solutions. The process of building and implementing broadband networks is technically complicated. Straightforward, highly readable, and logically presented, Building Broadband Networks provides the foundation for understanding the broadband communications infrastructure and the framework needed to effectively develop and deploy broadband network solutions.
