This dataset is designed to demonstrate how to analyze stimulated recall sessions in the constructivist grounded theory method of research. The data are provided by Associate Professor Courtney Clayton from the University of Mary Washington's College of Education. As Ryan and Gass (2012) state in their 2012 chapter in Teacher cognition and practice: International case studies to illuminate methodological issues (edited by Barnard & A. Burns and published in Bristol by Multilingual Matters), stimulated recall involves the "verbalisation of cognition retrospectively rather than concurrently. It is a method used to elicit qualitative data related to the thought processes associated with performing an action or participating in an event.
