Time Delay Systems Methods Applications And New Trends written by Rifat Sipahi and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-24 with Computers categories.

This volume is concerned with the control and dynamics of time delay systems; a research field with at least six-decade long history that has been very active especially in the past two decades. In parallel to the new challenges emerging from engineering, physics, mathematics, and economics, the volume covers several new directions including topology induced stability, large-scale interconnected systems, roles of networks in stability, and new trends in predictor-based control and consensus dynamics. The associated applications/problems are described by highly complex models, and require solving inverse problems as well as the development of new theories, mathematical tools, numerically-tractable algorithms for real-time control. The volume, which is targeted to present these developments in this rapidly evolving field, captures a careful selection of the most recent papers contributed by experts and collected under five parts: (i) Methodology: From Retarded to Neutral Continuous Delay Models, (ii) Systems, Signals and Applications, (iii): Numerical Methods, (iv) Predictor-based Control and Compensation, and (v) Networked Control Systems and Multi-agent Systems.

Stability Of Motion Of Nonautonomous Systems Methods Of Limiting Equations written by Junji Kato and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-09-09 with Mathematics categories.

Continuing the strong tradition of functional analysis and stability theory for differential and integral equations already established by the previous volumes in this series, this innovative monograph considers in detail the method of limiting equations constructed in terms of the Bebutov-Miller-Sell concept, the method of comparison, and Lyapunov's direct method based on scalar, vector and matrix functions. The stability of abstract compacted and uniform dynamic processes, dispersed systems and evolutionary equations in Banach space are also discussed. For the first time, the method first employed by Krylov and Bogolubov in their investigations of oscillations in almost linear systems is applied to a new field: that of the stability problem of systems with small parameters. This important development should facilitate the solution of engineering problems in such areas as orbiting satellites, rocket motion, high-speed vehicles, power grids, and nuclear reactors.

Conservation Physiology For The Anthropocene A Systems Approach written by and has been published by Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-10-21 with Science categories.

Conservation Physiology for the Anthropocene: A Systems Approach, Volume 39A in the Fish Physiology series, is a comprehensive synthesis on the physiology of fish in the Anthropocene. This volume closes the knowledge gap by considering the many ways in which different physiological systems (e.g., sensory physiology, endocrine, cardio-respiratory, bioenergetics, water and ionic balance and homeostasis, locomotion/biomechanics, gene function) and physiological diversity are relevant to management and conservation. As the world is changing, with a dire need to identify solutions to the many environmental problems facing wild fish populations, this book comprehensively covers conservation physiology and its future techniques. Conservation physiology reveals the many ways in which environmental change and human activities can negatively influence wild fish populations. These tactics inform new management and conservation activities and help create the necessary conditions for fish to thrive. - Presents authoritative contributions from an international board of authors, each with extensive expertise in the conservation physiology of fish - Provides the most up-to-date information on the ways in which different physiological systems are relevant to the management and conservation of fish and fisheries - Identifies how anthropogenic stressors perturb physiological systems - Explores how different physiological systems can be exploited to solve conservation problems

A Systems Approach To Agroecology written by Pablo Tittonell and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

As agroecology gains momentum in the international research-for-development arena, there is an urgent need for methods and tools to support the codesign and evaluation of agroecological systems and their transitions. The social and ecological complexity of agroecosystems, their dynamics, uncertainties and sustainability, calls for a holistic, systemic approach to agroecology. As such, several questions arise for example: how do we deal with heterogeneity, landscapes, biodiversity or learning processes in agroecosystems analysis? How do we categorise diversity or analyse trade-offs in social-ecological interactions? How do we conceptualise, codesign and monitor agroecological transitions? This book sets out to answer these questions by building on the valuable ‘classics’ in agroecology. The book presents a systems perspective that underpins a combination of methodologies, ranging from participatory tools and field observations to mathematical simulation modelling. Researchers, advanced students and transdisciplinary practitioners will find in this book insights and methods to design research and (co-) innovation processes to foster agroecological transitions.

Differential Equations A Dynamical Systems Approach written by John H. Hubbard and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1991 with Mathematics categories.

This is a continuation of the subject matter discussed in the first book, with an emphasis on systems of ordinary differential equations and will be most appropriate for upper level undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of mathematics, engineering, and applied mathematics, as well as in the life sciences, physics, and economics. After an introduction, there follow chapters on systems of differential equations, of linear differential equations, and of nonlinear differential equations. The book continues with structural stability, bifurcations, and an appendix on linear algebra. The whole is rounded off with an appendix containing important theorems from parts I and II, as well as answers to selected problems.

Objective medical decision~making has shown itself to be an emerging discipline which is sufficiently robust to promote its further development. This book identifies many important areas for applications in the field of acute patient care. The different approaches require testing, evaluation and mutual co~parisons to ensure that the right method is used to solve the existing problem. Medical sciences and patient care are increasingly supported by system sciences, resulting in growing multi- and interdisciplinary research and development areas. In this context, system sciences involve the methods, techniques, concepts and approaches obtained f~om disciplines such as mathematics, statistics, stochastic signal theory, fuzzy set theory, systems and control theory, signal analysis, pattern recogni tion, simulation, computer languages, structured programming, data base management and computer sciences. This book contains the papers of a workshop "Objective Medical Decision making f Systems approach in acute disease" which was initia ted and supported by the SWG/COMAC on Biomedical Engineering, Evaluation of Technology, Transfer and Standardization of CRM/CREST of the European Community. In setting up the original programme we have been assisted by a group of experts and for their cooperation we are very gratef.ul to S. Dawids, Copenhagen E. Epple, Tlibingen ; J. Jones, Harrow; L. Lambotte, Brussels C. Marchesi, Pisa and D. Robert, Lyon. The papers have been arranged in four groups, each followed by a brief synopsis. The four groups are : diagnosis, monitoring, therapy and control, and evaluation of criteria and procedures.
