This book is the second of the series about the imperatives for the search for new psychiatry. As stated in my recent 2021 book about: The Search for New Psychiatry, current psychiatric practices have failed many: patients and their families, their doctors and the society at large. The intention of this book is to provide an overview of child and adolescent psychiatry in Europe, focusing on the historical development, current situation, and future perspectives of the specialty. In 2013, the American Psychiatric Association published the 5th edition of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).
