If you could ask anything about how to manifest your intentions, what would you ask? This book materialized from the willingness to address "The Intention Idea" as an independent consciousness and to ask it detailed questions about intention-work. This includes the entire process from coming up with an intention all the way through manifesting it and expanding into new intentions. Here are some of the questions we explore: 1.How is intention different than a thought or a belief? Or is it the same? 2.Why do I sometimes need to put my intention back in - re-state it or re-align with it? 3.What's the effect of combining my intentions with other people's intentions? 4.What happens if I have too many intentions I want to create? 5.What if my intention is for something that is time-based? 6.What are tools you suggest for working with and manifesting intentions? 7.How do I discern which actions are working best in my personal harmony of actions, and which should be stopped or changed? 8.What does it mean to follow your heart, and how do I do it better and better? If you've studied any topics like Law of Attraction, Goal Setting, or Manifestation, you know there are a lot of opinions on what you need to do in order to turn your dreams into reality. But what if it's not just about manifesting your personal dreams for a happy life? What if the end result of intention-work is also a kinder world that operates more in harmony with everyone's goals and intentions? What makes this book different is the open exploration of perspectives (not hard rules), the sense of friendship with your intentions, and the inspiration to create in alignment with a greater harmonic order. End Result from reading this book? You'll feel lighter and more capable of creating your intentions into the world of reality.

Refuge Recovery written by Noah Levine and has been published by Harper Collins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-06-10 with Self-Help categories.

Bestselling author and renowned Buddhist teacher Noah Levine adapts the Buddha's Four Noble Truths and Eight Fold Path into a proven and systematic approach to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction—an indispensable alternative to the 12-step program. While many desperately need the help of the 12-step recovery program, the traditional AA model's focus on an external higher power can alienate people who don't connect with its religious tenets. Refuge Recovery is a systematic method based on Buddhist principles, which integrates scientific, non-theistic, and psychological insight. Viewing addiction as cravings in the mind and body, Levine shows how a path of meditative awareness can alleviate those desires and ease suffering. Refuge Recovery includes daily meditation practices, written investigations that explore the causes and conditions of our addictions, and advice and inspiration for finding or creating a community to help you heal and awaken. Practical yet compassionate, Levine's successful Refuge Recovery system is designed for anyone interested in a non-theistic approach to recovery and requires no previous experience or knowledge of Buddhism or meditation.

Effective Intentions written by Alfred R. Mele and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-04-22 with Psychology categories.

Each of the following claims has been defended in the scientific literature on free will and consciousness: your brain routinely decides what you will do before you become conscious of its decision; there is only a 100 millisecond window of opportunity for free will, and all it can do is veto conscious decisions, intentions, or urges; intentions never play a role in producing corresponding actions; and free will is an illusion. In Effective Intentions Alfred Mele shows that the evidence offered to support these claims is sorely deficient. He also shows that there is strong empirical support for the thesis that some conscious decisions and intentions have a genuine place in causal explanations of corresponding actions. In short, there is weighty evidence of the existence of effective conscious intentions or the power of conscious will. Mele examines the accuracy of subjects' reports about when they first became aware of decisions or intentions in laboratory settings and develops some implications of warranted skepticism about the accuracy of these reports. In addition, he explores such questions as whether we must be conscious of all of our intentions and why scientists disagree about this. Mele's final chapter closes with a discussion of imaginary scientific findings that would warrant bold claims about free will and consciousness of the sort he examines in this book.

Wittgenstein’s Intentions, first published in 1993, presents a series of essays dedicated to the great Wittgenstein exegete John Hunter. The problematic topics discussed are identified not only by Wittgenstein’s own philosophical writings, but also by contemporary scholarship: areas of ambiguity, perhaps even confusion, as well as issues which the father of analytic philosophy did not himself address. The difficulties involved in speaking cogently about religious belief, suspicion, consciousness, the nature of the will, the coincidence of our thoughts with reality, and transfinite numbers are all investigated, as well as a variety of other intriguing questions: why can’t a baby pretend to smile? How do I know what I was going to say? Wittgenstein’s Intentions is an invaluable resource for students of Wittgenstein as well as scholars, and opens up a wide horizon of philosophical questioning for those as yet unfamiliar with this style of reasoning.

Intention And Text written by Kaye Mitchell and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-10-28 with Literary Criticism categories.

The question of intention is central to the study of literature. How far can an author's intentions determine the meanings of his/her text? What do we mean by 'intention' in a literary context? What force does the reader's intention have in the construction of textual meaning? To what extent can a text itself be said to be 'intentional'? The aim of this book is to provide an in-depth analysis and critique of this concept of intention, its uses within the realms of literary theory, aesthetics, philosophy of language, phenomenology and deconstruction, and its potential for redefinition. Mitchell sets out to re-think intention and interrogate the possibilities of an intentionalism more suited to a formalist or textualist critical methodology. She moves from an assessment of the pitfalls of a traditional authorial intentionalism, towards the formulation of an 'intentionality of form', where intention is seen as a formal attribute of the text itself
