Presentation Two streams from the same Source. We are continually subject to the duality of good and evil, for more often than not nothing is quite right or quite wrong, and even the best things can come with downsides. To this question, this book does not only provide clear and precise explanations but above all practical methods to strengthen oneself spiritually, learn to manage this duality and triumph over the trials of life. 'The solution of the question of evil lies in knowing the methods of how to work with it and to use its power. What-ever its origin, evil is an inner and outer reality which con-fronts us daily and which we have to learn to deal with. To attack it head-on is not only useless but dangerous: the odds are too heavily against us. So we have to learn the methods to use in order to gain the upper hand and transform evil into good.' Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov Table of contents 1 - The Serpent of Genesis 2 - What Good is Evil? 3 - Beyond Good and Evil 4 - Until the Harvest 5 - The Philosophy of Unity 6 - Into the Wilderness to Be Tempted 7 - The Undesirables 8 - Suicide is not the Answer 9 - The Real Weapons 10 - The Science of the Initiates, or the Inner Lamps

What is morally right and wrong differs from one individual to the next. From the big issues of abortion and sexual expression to the life choices of integrity, these differing opinions exist throughout human culture. Who is right and who is wrong? Is mankind fit to decide what is good and evilor is this decision too great a responsibility for us to handle? As the moral fabric of the individual, the family, the nation, and the world disintegrates, we are faced with the dilemma: Who really decides what is morally right and wrong? In The Knowledge of Good and Evil, Joshua K. Hildebrandt takes us back to the beginning to a man and a woman and a tree in a garden to discover how this question can be answered, and to show us the freedom that can be ours in laying down the right to choose!

At the time of Norway's original conversion to Christianity, two missionaries stumble upon the spiritual lesson of a lifetime. The missionaries find themselves in the company of a wise old man, who was one of the original converts to Christianity in Norway. In the form of an intelligent Socratic dialogue, the three men converse about ideas the missionaries had never before considered. The dialogue that unfolds goes deeply into exploring human sinfulness, judgment, and moral precepts. As the old man tries to explain to his audience, right and wrong - as purported to be from God's eyes - is not a true judgment, but only a mere imitation of people. The men slowly open up themselves to life-changing revelations. A deeply theological work, The Knowledge of Good and Evil may bring readers, even if they do not understand the main thesis, to a greater understanding of the law, judgment, punishment and morality, while revealing God's love through all of them. David Murdoch is a convert to the Roman Catholic faith and the author of the novel Ana Markovic. In addition to being a writer, he is also a historical researcher and a part-time taste tester for a large grocery store chain. He lives in Toronto, Canada.

First Corinthians 15:56, The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law, is both puzzling and neglected. It is puzzling since there appears to be no precursor in 1 Corinthians to the law-critical statement found there. It is neglected because of its size. Nevertheless, the short verse offers the opportunity to analyze in a rudimentary state Paul's law-sin notion that appears full-blown in Romans, and the absence of a polemical setting allows scholars to examine a law-critical statement issued during a polemical lull. In The Law and Knowledge of Good and Evil, Vlachos weighs attempts to explain the presence of 1 Cor 15:56 in 1 Corinthians and argues that the Genesis Fall narrative, where the tempter plied his seductions by way of the commandment, provides the theological substructure to Paul's understanding of the law's provocation of sin. In doing so, Vlachos contends that Paul reaches the historical high water mark of his polemic against the salvific efficacy of the law by locating a law-sin nexus in Eden, and, contrary to some recent perspectives on Paul, he argues that the edenically informed axiom in 1 Cor 15:56 suggests that Paul's fundamental concern with the law was rooted in primordial rather than ethnic soil. While studies of Paul and the law have tended to bypass Eden, The Law and Knowledge of Good and Evil breaks ground by moving the argument beyond Second Temple Judaism to the Genesis Fall account, where the prohibition against partaking of the knowledge of good and evil led to the knowledge of sin.
