In 'The Creator, and what we may know of the method of creation,' W. H. Dallinger explores the intricate relationship between science and spirituality, presenting a compelling discourse on the nature of creation from both a scientific and theological perspective. The work is characterized by Dallinger's meticulous attention to detail and methodical style, which reflects the Victorian era's burgeoning interest in the relationship between faith and reason. Through a series of essays, he delves into cosmology, biology, and the implications of evolutionary theory, arguing for a harmonious coexistence of scientific inquiry and divine craftsmanship. W. H. Dallinger, a prominent scientist and theologian, lived during a transformative period in which traditional beliefs were challenged by advancing scientific discoveries. His background in natural sciences combined with his passion for religious thought deeply influenced his writing. Dallinger was driven by a desire to reconcile faith with reason, which is vividly evident throughout this work, as he seeks to illuminate the profound ways in which creation can be understood through both divine inspiration and empirical evidence. This book is a must-read for anyone torn between science and faith, offering a nuanced exploration that encourages a deeper understanding of existence. Dallinger's insightful perspectives will resonate with scholars, theologians, and curious minds alike, inviting readers to embark on a journey that merges the realms of observation and belief.

Deleuze Philosophy And The Creation Of Concepts written by Axel Cherniavsky and has been published by Edinburgh University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-30 with categories.

One feature of Gilles Deleuze's philosophy is its effort to establish connections with other disciplines and to appeal to non-philosophers. However, Deleuze never establishes these connections without a constant and unconditional reaffirmation of the uniqueness of philosophy. How does he conceive of philosophy? What are its elements? What are its methods? How is philosophy connected to other fields of knowledge and other activities? Axel Cherniavsky provides an answer to these questions by analysing the definition of philosophy Deleuze gives throughout his entire oeuvre: creation of concepts. Through this analysis, you will discover a reconstruction of a creative methodology, a detailed theory of the philosophical concept, a reflection on interdisciplinarity and altogether one of the most precise and systematic conceptions that philosophy has ever given of itself.

Originally published in 1995, Creation and Evolution in the Early American Scientific Affiliation is the tenth volume in the series, Creationism in Twentieth Century America, reissued in 2021. The volume comprises of original primary sources from the American Science Affiliation, a group formed following an invitation from the president of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, in answer to the perceived need for an academic society for American Evangelical Scientists to explicate the relationship between science and faith. The society confronted the debate between creation and evolution head on, leaving a paper trail documenting their thoughts and struggles. This diverse and expansive collection includes 53 selections that appeared during the organisation’s first two decades and focuses on the encounter between science and American evangelicalism in the twentieth century, in particular the debates surrounding the ever-increasing preference for evolutionary theory. The collection will be of especial interest to natural historians, and theologians as well as academics of philosophy, and history.

The Creation Of Scientific Psychology written by David J. Murray and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-02-15 with Psychology categories.

With an emphasis on developments taking place in Germany during the nineteenth century, this book provides in-depth examinations of the key contributions made by the pioneers of scientific psychology. Their works brought measurement and mathematics into the study of the mind. Through unique analysis of measurement theory by Whewell, mathematical developments by Gauss, and theories of mental processes developed by Herbart, Weber, Fechner, Helmholtz, Müller, Delboeuf and others, this volume maps the beliefs, discoveries, and interactions that constitute the very origins of psychophysics and its offspring Experimental Psychology. Murray and Link expertly combine nuanced understanding of linguistic and historic factors to identify theoretical approaches to relating physicalintensities and psychological magnitudes. With an eye to interactions and influences on future work in the field, the volume illustrates the important legacy that mathematical developments in the nineteenth century have for twentieth and twenty-first century psychologists. This detailed and engaging account fills a deep gap in the history of psychology. The Creation of Scientific Psychology will appeal to researchers, academics, and students in the fields of history of psychology, psychophysics, scientific, and mathematical psychology.

While there are many books on particular languages, there are very few that deal with all aspects of object-oriented programming languages. The Interpretation of Object-Oriented Programming Languages provides a comprehensive treatment of the main approaches to object-oriented languages, including class-based, prototype and actor languages. This revised and extended edition includes a completely new chapter on Microsoft's new C# language, a language specifically designed for modern, component-oriented, networked applications. The chapter covers all aspects of C# that relate to object-oriented programming. It now also includes a new appendix on BeCecil, a kernel language that can implement object-oriented constructs within a single framework.

Concurrent Object Oriented Programming And Petri Nets written by Gul A. Agha and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-04-18 with Business & Economics categories.

Concurrency and distribution have become the dominant paradigm and concern in computer science. Despite the fact that much of the early research in object-oriented programming focused on sequential systems, objects are a natural unit of distribution and concurrency - as elucidated early on by research on the Actor model. Thus, models and theories of concurrency, the oldest one being Petri nets, and their relation to objects are an attractive topic of study. This book presents state-of-the-art results on Petri nets and concurrent object-oriented programming in a coherent and competent way. The 24 thoroughly reviewed and revised papers are organized in three sections. The first consists of long papers, each presenting a detailed approach to integrating Petri nets and object-orientation. Section II includes shorter papers with emphasis on concrete examples to demonstrate the approach. Finally, section III is devoted to papers which significantly build on the Actor model of computation.
