This popular and well received standard text on Entrepreneurship has been completely revised and updated for the second edition. The text retains the favourably reviewed features of the first edition which include the importance of context, diversity and differing international entrepreneurial practice, yet is underpinned by coverage and application of relevant theory. In particular, the text now contains important and entirely new sections on entrepreneurship in the face of multiple global crises, evidence on entrepreneurial resilience, new case study material on examples of international entrepreneurship from developing countries including a new section on Entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa, new case material on ‘clean technology’ entrepreneurship and on green finance, and a new chapter on Indigenous Entrepreneurship. All chapters have been completely updated to reflect increased diversity and the place of Entrepreneurship in the context of multiple global crises. The text retains the pedagogic features of the first edition which are consistent throughout the text and include learning outcomes, boxed case studies with discussion questions, policy and practical issues, summaries of each chapter, recommended reading and suggested assignments. The text is complemented by online support material for tutors.

Young people and future generations face a rapidly changing world shaped by the green and digital transformations, demographic shifts, economic uncertainties, and challenges to democratic governance. The OECD Recommendation on Creating Better Opportunities for Young People promotes coherent government-wide strategies to improve young people’s lives and empower them in economic, public, and social life. To help policy makers implement the OECD Youth Recommendation, the OECD Youth Policy Toolkit provides practical guidance on designing and executing policies for young people. The Toolkit gathers a range of good practices from all OECD countries, covering policy areas such as education and skills, employment and entrepreneurship, health and social inclusion, participation and representation in public life, and public governance and intergenerational justice. To support inclusive policies, the OECD Youth Policy Toolkit recognises the diverse characteristics among young people across national contexts, including socio-economic status, geographic location, age, gender, race, ethnicity, indigeneity, migrant status, (dis)ability status, and all other identities young people associate with, and their intersections.

International migration is a growing phenomenon in the 21st century and is increasingly seen as a high-priority public policy issue by many governments, politicians, and the broader public throughout the world. Its importance to economic prosperity, human development, and safety and security ensures that it will remain a top priority for the foreseeable future. This book highlights the importance of ensuring that we remain focused on the successes of migration as well as the challenges. At the end of the 20th century, more importance was given to immigrant and ethnic minority entrepreneurship due to its positive impact on local economic growth and overall economic development in the hosting nations. In the 21st century, the imperative of the United Nations 2030 agenda involves a deeper understanding of the complex challenges for the achievement of sustainable goals. One of these challenges is to understand how migrant-entrepreneurs may or may not identify with their ethnic community, therefore dissociating themselves from their ethnic group. In this sense, religion and ethnicity are differentiating factors between social groups, and the relationships allow preserving their culture and establishing relationships and integration in the community at all levels. This edited volume brings together impactful contributions that will interest multidisciplinary academic areas and aims to contribute to the enhancement of scientific knowledge on the intersection of entrepreneurship, migration, ethnicity, and religion, a gap in the existing literature that has the potential to provide a deeper understanding of factors that influence migrant populations’ contribution to socio-economic development in their communities. This book will be an invaluable resource to researchers and scholars in the fields of immigration, immigrant entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial culture, and economic development.
